This is a strange question, but does anyone know of a console command that would freeze my game for several seconds?

"hud_reloadscheme" works, but it's usually very brief unfortunately, like half a second long.
That means I have to mash whatever key is assigned to that command, and the total freeze time is unpredictable.

If you want a crash, just make a loop
Otherwise, you could make a scrolling rebind that calls for reloadscheme several times before stopping
