Ployboy is super straightforward to build. Just add Fury 3. Recover ring offsets it's damage entirely and he really appreciates the boosts to attack, speed and res. Spd ploy is more optimal than his default Def Ploy, but if you don't have fodder Def Ploy is perfectly good too. You can also replace his assist skill with ardent sacrifice for some pinch healing - it pairs nicely with recover ring, but personally healing for only 10 hp is kind of weak and I much prefer movement tools.

Sophia is also a very solid unit if you feel like building her. She's one of the best red Raven+TA users.

He's a free BLyn counter for AA. Somebody has to take down those Firesweep CA BLyn.

No worries. Remember to line up your ploys before attacking, it can take a bit of getting used to but it's a fucking godsend on shit like double bridge. He also really appreciates hone speed support, especially if you're not running speed ploy, so try and make that happen too.

While I'm not going to refute this statement, there's a lot of factors in gauntlets that nobody seems to bother thinking about. Tharja was available for two weeks and is incredibly good as a unit, compared to Camilla who was available the same day the gauntlet itself started and is mediocre at best. It's incredibly naive to think people pick their gauntlet character based solely on how much they like the character, as opposed to other factors like whether or not they have the unit.

I went the other route and promoted more Cavalry over focusing down a couple, helps with Arena Assault.

Why use him

I use spd +3 and Fortify Res 3 a lot, but that's mostly since I give many of my units Hone speed naturally. Atk smoke is also very solid.
