Seriously, what the fuck was the point of the forest fire in this? Was it literally just a random plot device?

The way Rachel started it seemed supernatural. In Franks RV, the weather guy on the radio is saying how it is behaving as if it has a mind of it's own because it seems to have an uncanny ability to spread around the town completely, but not actually touch Arcadia Bay. Then, it just goes out immediately once Rachel is stabbed.

And are we also going to ignore the fact that Chloe has a conversation with her father outside of a dream, which has an impact on the actual game?

Also, was that Sera talk actually something that happened or was that just some fucking weird dream sequence? If not a dream sequence, why the hell was Chloe still there and not at the hospital? If it was a dream sequence, why can you give Sera a physical object that remains with her even after the dream sequence is over?

Also, why the fuck is Chloe expelled in May of 2010 when it clearly shows in LiS that she was in school as of May 2011?

Max looked after Alice, so Kate returned the favor by looking after Lisa.

I just finished playing oxenfree, and I liked the original life is strange
Is Before the Storm worth it my friends?

The fire Rachel causes is very symbolical. It foreshadows the coming of a storm.
Like Chloe said - the tornado that devours Arcadia Bay is Rachel's revenge for what happened to her, the ultimate end to the town she always wanted to escape with tons of sick shit happening there, especially with the Prescott family in power.

I also like to connect the fire with Daughter's song - Youth. It fits perfectly into the story and describes emotions of Rachel Amber, her rise and demise the beautiful fire that William was explaining in Chloe's dreams and also what Rachel's father kept saying about Sera - that she was a reckless force

There's a ton of symbolism in this game and it's really up to you how you decipher it.
The doe that impersonates Rachel is the recurring theme in the original game, it also shows the location of her body. Nature has a great impact on the story, the game wants you to keep looking at that with the recurring indian symbolism in the background.

It's just a useless plot device. Maybe they were going somewhere with it but decided not to or couldn't figure out how to get there.

I do enjoy, especially in BtS as a prequel, all of the foreshadowing and symbolism. I think the recurring question that it poses to the players about lies, how everyone tells them, and the moral dilemma of whether or not the truth is always what is best.

Ultimately, I think the moral of the story is that everybody indeed lies to you, but if you love someone enough, it doesn't change anything. Just like how Chloe began to understand that her own father likely lied her, and it didn't change a damn thing. She also has the chance to lie or tell the truth to Rachel, and in the end, it does not really change anything.

And ultimately, Rachel lies to Chloe. And it doesn't change a damn thing either, Chloe still loved Rachel and once she found out she was dead, was hell bent on ending the life of whoever was responsible for it.

I think the ultimate message that I received from it is that if you truly love somebody, nothing they could possibly do can change that. And all it takes is one person to completely change your outlook on life and how you see yourself as a person.

What did William lie about though? It's pretty stupid message without specifics.

The fire was trying to hint to Rachel's emotions effecting the weather (wind). Hinting there is something very special about her but for better or worse they didn't even begin to explain what. If they linked Sera to the occult or similar then maybe it would have been a little clearer.
Deck Nine decided to be too blatant with some things and then not even begin to explain others. Otherwise, the fire served the purpose of being the source of Chloe's first real doubts about Rachel, in the way that she realizes "All this destruction because Rachel got pissed off". It definitely didn't need to be included in the game but it served as a neat visual.
Like the storm of S1, probably would have been better off being metaphorical.

He didn't lie about anything we know of. It was more Chloe having the question put into her head or did he lie to her? If Rachel's seemingly perfect father hid that much stuff, then maybe Chloe's did as well. Which William would never be able to answer because it's not really him.
Like the journal Max, William in BtS was a part of Chloe's mind where she continued to hypothetically talk to them.

I made up my mind when Episode 3 came out that it wasn't going to happen if that's what the final choice was. Watched Bay one time on YouTube and hated every second of it, needless tragedy that couldn't even be explained using the game's logic.
Sucks that some people got harmed and property was destroyed, but I'm not going to blame Max or Chloe for it. They couldn't know what was going on and the gamble to try to find out wasn't worth it.

It means we'll see more Pricefield because he said it'll retell some things from different PoV but also possibly new moments between the two couples that we haven't seen
Plus it's fast becoming my favorite crackship (and it is a bit of a crackship; gotta stretch your imagination a little)

I'm suddenly reminded of that line from the fic Grande Dame where after a few months/years of people coming together, things being rebuilt, old bad influences leaving, and new good ones coming in, that Chloe reaches the conclusion that "The storm was the best damn thing to happen to this town."
It sounds incredibly harsh to say since people did die but it really would breath new life into Arcadia Bay. Or it would finish it off for good as everyone left it, which I couldn't see happening. Question would be how much responsibility Max or Chloe would feel for whatever damage was done.
