Ibuki offers nothing the other T9 cruisers, and arguably T8 cruisers, do better. Mogami does significantly more damage, sets more fires, and is stealthier, and all the T9 CA have a gimmick that makes them significantly better. I cannot think of a single situation i would prefer Ibuki over a different T9 CA.

RN carriers were built on a different philosophy than IJN or USN carriers. Their plane capacity tended to be smaller, but the later ones were well protected, especially in terms of flight deck armor. So they become more defensive carriers. Somehow.

That seems like a really shitty gimmick, any haflway decent CV player will never be under fire unless the game is already lost Slow planes that can take more AA fire but get shredded by fighters sounds decent on paper, but surface ships will get even madder because they have to depend on their CV not being a potato even more.

I don't own it but I hear the Okhotnik is hilarious. Kotori is painfully slow, yuubari is a fragile tin can, and Ishizuchi is a down tiered kongo with worse armor. If you have to buy one go for the Russian dd. If not save up. I'd buy camo on one of my high tier ships personally.
