A very quick and poor one today, it's 1am and I need to be up for work in a few hours but wanted to finish a poem. If I had more time I'd polish it up but it's my first attempt at keeping a rhyming pattern going. I hope it isn't too harsh to read.

"Tradition."
Today is the day I can turn my life around.
The day at last to put my feet on the ground.
Though woken late through troubled sleep.
But this is a promise I intend to keep.
The day is full of wanton distraction.
Each task a struggle to gain traction.
Before I can tell it is long past noon.
But I'll get started some time soon.
As the day winds on as I hear the clock turn.
Time running out on rewards yet to earn.
How can I salvage what remains of my day.
How can I ensure good habits will stay.
As long as these goals I hold to endeavor.
Today or tomorrow it won't matter whichever.
So for tonight I place my head on the ground.
Tomorrow is the day I turn my life around.
It is my tradition.

And yeah, pretty much. It's not really a complex theme but one I'm sure people can relate to, or at least, relate to the fear of it. I can't describe why initial D is so good. I'd recommend just going to watch it.

Oh, artillery actually isn't all that bad. I spent a bit of my childhood on Fort Sill, and my uncle is an artillery officer in the Army National Guard. Just watch out for some on-the-ground stuff. Cav scout, infantry, engineer, that crazy shit. Unless you're really into battle, stay clear. It'll fuck your body up good. No one EVER comes out of the Army with good knees, but combat MOSs like that are especially vulnerable to injury. And the VA is not something you want to deal with.

Please do it! Stuff like this is why /ddlc/ isn't dead yet.
