I agree that it's a shit system, but how about you find a MM system that:
1. Has fair and balanced matching
2. Takes into account vehicle era so you can't face cold war shit with WW2 vehicles
So far Gayjin was unable to find a system to do these. Or maybe they never wanted to.

You would have to insure the system doesn’t just throw tanks that can’t handle the enemy team all on one team by trying to find players with capable vehicles first.
For example mid war matches would have mostly mid war tanks with maybe a few early war tanks being put in if the MM can’t fin enough players.
It would basically function like the br spread but have slightly more reason to it and avoid issues like making tank nearly useless from always fighting tanks built 10+ years after they had left the battlefield

It's not possible to have both with the variety of vehicles in the game. You could do it with micro-matches where only 1 or 2 different balanced same-era vehicle types can fight on each side, but you'd need a big player base and a small vehicle variety in order to ever find a match.

If you have any interest in Mongolia during that time I would recommend Blood red sunset by MaBo. It gives great insight into how little Mongolia really had at that time and how little they even cared about the outside world
