focusing on only one character and some decent lab time I don't think it would be that many to be honest. With previous fighting game experience it wouldn't be bad at all, Brick got to Gold in like a week with Kolin before falling back to Bronze with Guile somehow. But it's not like Jive has a big an emphasis on fundamentals as others. Maybe 3/4k for a complete beginner?

for plat in jive? that seems a little low to me. i'm gold at the moment and i have around 4k games played in total. i check regularly the amount of games played by the people i play against and i seem to be pretty far ahead of the curve as far as games played go. not trying to suck my own dick here, but i think the average for even just gold is a lot higher than what you're suggesting.
