python syntax is literally the only good syntax, hopefully we replace IDEs with AI that understands plain language soon

To be honest I agree, I enjoy python, and that's why I started using Godot

do you know de way

Please respond with ideas.

Python is gross

*clucking*

flexible isn't the same as convoluted kiddo

I'm a dick, Ted.

Meanwhile, in a sane language:
f: *const [fn(c_int) -> *const c_char; 5]
And that's the direct translation.

what's wrong with my ice cube? I can't tell whats wrong with it specifically but I don't like it.

Porn game with actual good gameplay

not cute

does that exist today?

Watch this.

(USA)

It's too blue imo, you should desaturate the blues in it pretty heavily (assuming you aren't restricted by your game's palette)

>the most effective artist habit is stealing what other artists have made

...

where can I download your game

Not available in USA either apparently

...

getting closer, I'd say desaturate it some more and also brighten it. It's mainly the blue outline that seems like a problem to me

Blender isn't your game, you dumb, malnourished cat-monkey hybrid.

>text game
lmaoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

...

an inclusive game with queer nonbinary POC characters that teaches about the hardships caused by the white cis patriarchy

I hope to be done with these windows next week.

I started developing a Victoria 2 clone, that should be better than vicky.
I implemented some basics, like pop growth, army movement and other core stuff.
Then I thought what features I should add. I dreamed about all kind of cool features that will extend gameplay and add some depth to the game.
Then I played Victoria 2 again. And analyzed, what parts of the game I really play. I tried to analyze what makes the game fun.
What I discovered? I discovered that I mostly play minmaxing Bob Ross simulator. Historical events, pop dynamics, factories — all this stuff improved my experience, but was not really important for getting my fun. And even minmaxing part is not that important, if I lost an army or got deficit that wouldn't upset me — remember, there are no mistakes, just happy little accidents.

So, now I simply don't know what I should do. I already have a very crappy Bob Ross simulator, but what should be added to it? Economy, religion, production chains — why? Historical events, persons — why?
The only relevant part I can think of is the hand-shaping of borders. It will definitely make Bob Ross simulator better. But it is hard to implement. And I can't say that it is really important, since drawing with a wide brush feels good enough.

/agdg/, how do you decide what features will make your game more fun?

what about the actual pixels I've placed. Like the whites for like... glare effect or what not

those seem fine to me

>/agdg/, how do you decide what features will make your game more fun?
playtesting. unfortunately.

plain language is a fucking mess. its the opposite of plain.

>documentation is incomplete and deprecated
>the only way to solve my problem is a poorly formatted, not marked as answered answerhub post by some no name
I hate UE4 so fucking much

How's high school?

Natural language is terrible for programming. Natural languages are designed for communication between people with brains that are very good at understanding context and filling in the blanks.

In contrast, programming languages have to be very specific and mechanical.

strawpoll.me/14782611

that's where AI comes in

there is a UE4 tutorial on youtube for everything

who is making this AI and is it open source?

>unregistered hypercam

>In contrast, programming languages have to be very specific and mechanical.
It is possible to make a language with everything-is-implicitly-passed semantics. It would be hell to debug, users of this language will have to become true wizards, but it is doable.

Thanks, anons!
Time from A to B was what I was overlooking.

An array or TSet/TMap of enemies

I don't even understand what that means

he is asking if he should implement chad enemies

I'm not sure what you mean. Like when you're in a fight with multiple enemies and you're selecting which once to attack? In that case I'd say highlight the enemy sprite/model when the player is hovering over a name, to make it clear which one is being attacked.

It's not programming if you're not telling it exactly what to do. Giving an AI high level instructions on what a game should be like will result in, essentially, a game that someone else made. You don't think AI is going to be included in intellectual property laws? Write a damn book if you want someone else to expend the effort it takes to realize your vision.

...

He's clearly talking about managing multiple enemies in a turn based RPG.

>alpha-beta pruning in the context of JRPG enemies
>clearly

If he's talking about programming why would the name of the enemies have any factor on how they're managed by the code?

You just keep on tweaking the game by giving it more commands, like your own personal instantaneous devslave.

>This palette is ugly, make it a bit darker
>This section in the level isn't fun, change this and that
>Not enough memes here

What does /agdg/ think of my game idea?
>Tony Hawk Pro Skater but instead of skating it's free running
I'm open to suggestions on what I could add to make it more interesting for the player. Planning on using Unreal Engine 4 if that helps.

its a game about the boring parts of American wasteland ?

It's called parkour

Right, and you think whoever created/trained/etc. the AI is going to just let you claim what it produces as your own?

tony hawkesque games with wacky physics got old after goat simulator

>This section in the level isn't fun, change this and that
>Not enough memes here
Your instructions aren't even comprehensible to human beings, let alone computers. How the fuck is a computer supposed to know what you think is fun? How is it supposed to know what a meme is?

Sure why not? It would work just like any other tool you download.
Adobe for example is investing hard in deep learning, they want users to manipulate "things" in Photoshop rather than "pixels", it's basically what I'm suggesting but for images.

user there's a huge difference between a relatively simple tool you use and an intelligent entity (which is in no way, shape or form going to be able to exist as an independent copy on your computer) assisting you.

the botnet already crawled through my memes folders, it will know what I mean

My man, here's what you do. Make the game where you pilot a rideback-like mech. In bike mode you go super fast. In mech mode you can do all sorts of tricks.

that's pretty ageist of you user

If an AI like that existed then human input would be worthless anyway. At that point, literally anyone could order their computer to build any game they personally wanted to play. Games would lose all value.

I'm not the user you quoted but there's a part of me that wants to do a thing like this and make an IGPX type game, but I already have 1.5 projects being worked on right now.

you'd probably be better off with a magic wand you can wave to make your game appear out of thin air

Oh shit, thanks dude. This is a great idea. I'll definitely keep this in mind. I'm hoping to integrate some sort of wall-run mechanic at some point so this will definitely work. The game's art-style will be somewhat stylized as I feel I'll be able to justify the character's insane movement capabilities a lot better than going for something more realistic.

Does the guy run automatically, or something? Or where's the challenge?

At the very least you'd have to go really cartoony with the physics and the world, because I can't see a "realistic" game like that working out.

I think he's asking which enemies with the same name should have a postfix to indicate which is which:

Scary Monster A
Scary Monster B

instead of

Scary Monster
Scary Monster

Also what says, what makes "your" game so special when anybody can do it?

Anyone looking for an artist? I might be keen to do some free work for a game that at least has a working prototype.

How do I make a professional-looking blog? I don't want to be a social media indie memester forever.

Nah you'll have full control over the player character. I do hope to include large levels, on-foot races with the computer and collectables that make great use of the movement system.
>At the very least you'd have to go really cartoony with the physics and the world
That's the plan

How is it looking?

what is it?

If I had the chops, I'd probably try making something similar. In fact, I'd be interested in trying to make a videogame version of this "VeloCITY" project, that some guy has been keeping alive for a long time on Veeky Forums: >

>Learn webdev
>Make the fucking thing
>Hire a web hosting service to put it online
A blog is text on a page. It's not exactly rocket science.

I give up

Do I really need to learn webdev? I already have my plate full over here.

i can't see anything

Blah. How the fuck do inter-board links work here...

It's three arrows you dummy.

Is anyone doing a janny app this time around? Can we finally get one?

>Finally give godot a try after seeing all the memeing
>It's actually pretty nice

do it for freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

There are companies that allow you to make blogs like Tumblr, wordpress, etc. but you said you didn't want social media memes so what the fuck are you even asking for?

film projector

have to solve puzzle to get the rest of the lights on

Why is the resolution so low?

why is your dick so small?

that's the style

this could be interesting or shitty I have to see more

Rude.

...

>tfw can finally code decently but still cant into art or 3d

how do i replicate the ultimate spider-man aesthetic in unreal engine 4?

It's a lot easier to get an artist to do visuals for you, than the other way around.
