If you want to progress in the game you need to unlock bunch of stuff. To craft weapons, potions etc, you need items, which are found in unlockable dungeons. and get ready for a lot of grinding

If you made no other plan, would you have enough mb to be able to get the candidates on the first run? It likely wouldn't be all that fun without the weapons and such you can get plans for, but would it be possible?

Reinstalling it again fixed the problem. Looks like I somehow managed to nail four borked installations in a row, unlikely as it may be.

Maybe. You need 3072 MB to unlock them and you get a bit more than that in a single playthrough, though you need to change at least three dungeons to get the items you need. I'm not sure, but I believe some of the items you need to do that are also hidden in other changed dungeons. Depending on how many dungeons you need to change, it may eat enough MBs to lock you out of a candidate.

Don't worry, you get more MB as you progress through the story, and unless you're unlocking EVERYTHING you won't run out and miss important stuff. The item change/monster change plans are worth it, as are some item plans. There are some end-game things you won't be able to unlock but you probably wouldn't be able to unlock them on your first run anyways; you can start a New Game+ afterwards to unlock stuff you couldn't the first time.

It looks intimidating, but just don't worry about it, it'll be fine.

While I won't say Neptunia's implementation of this was good, limitations like these allow the game to reward the player with the very broad/dynamic reward of limit extension. Because the resource was limited, getting a limit extension as boss drop feels good. It can also be used as a gating mechanic to incentivize progressing through the story, but if that's what Neptunia tried to do it failed at it (I always had plenty of space left at least). A better-executed example of a mechanic like this is how in Ocarina of Time you could by default only hold 99 rupees at a time. Throughout the game you can get better wallets, allowing you to hold (and thus collect) more rupees (and use them to buy items over 99 rupees).

Wow, how do you get into such a poor condition outside of boss battles? Are you setting up your combos properly? And why is Plutia still at full SP when your HP is that low (assuming you're not using items to heal)?

No need for grinding if you use proper strategy unless you want to unlock every single costume and stuff like that.

Because a lot of people on this site like to support a site that blocks access unless you jump through a ton of hoops and like to only reference to doujins using links (instead of names or other identifying traits) so that when the site inevitably dies at some point all references will be useless.
