It has been a while but we haven't sung any Before the Storm songs so we thought it might be fun to do a /lisg/ sings again.

To be fair, he hits Warren once when Warren isn't prepared to fight, and then Warren tackles him out of the way of the car, and ends up on bottom.
I'll tell you from experience: someone who can't beat you in a standing fight can fucking pound you if they can get on top of you and you can't get out from under them.
The second time, though, Warren strikes first, hits Nathan while he's down, and doesn't let up until Max calls him off or he's beaten the guy half to death.
Basically, the first time Warren wasn't ready to actually fight someone. The second time, Warren had caught an assbeating the first time and he hadn't fucking forgotten how humiliating it is to get fucking beat.
Nathan, on the other hand, hadn't really improved at all since the first time.

Hello friends, a few days ago some of you recommended me to buy before the storm (and read some fanfiction?) and I just finished the game so i wanna talk about it.
Episode 1 was really weird. apparantly the first time Chloe has ever hung out with Rachel and she confesses that she totally feels something special going on between the two and that she doesn't wanna lose her too. Which I found dumb because they had hung out once? They sat on a train and played a game for like a few minutes, then joked about people in a park, and suddenly she's the only good thing left in your life and you feel like there's a special connection? You barely even know eachothers names fuck off honestly.
Ep 2 & 3 were really gay and it made me blush honestly it was nice
Also for some reason I thought Chloe was max throughout the entire game and I didn't realize until i saw the final cutscene lmao

Nathan still works out more than warren. The game was too short in time frame to show warren improve enough to fight back. The flaw with these games is honestly how short they are.

To be fair, it doesn't matter if I work out more (Nathan doesn't appear to be much bigger than Warren), if I let my enemy hit me once before I react, he hits me again before I draw my gun, and I don't take any actions but huddle up and wait for him to finish me off after the third blow falls.

I agree. there are just a bunch of things that just seem inconsistent. While most are just nitpicks they do add up. I still wish the game took place within a longer timeframe.

To be fair, the problem isn't the length of the game so much as the fact that I feel like a lot of their plots didn't pass the 'five year old' sniff test.
Basically, if a five year old can ask you a question that punches a hole in your story, you need to improve it or scrap it.

Ended up reading Alybalybee first LiS fic 'Honestly Dishonest' last night. It's different than 'I Like You a Whole Latte'. Honestly it feels a little more amateurish with the writing and there's a fair bit of sexual thoughts.
The idea around it was interesting and overall it wasn't bad. Legion will probably flip their shit if they read it, but that's usually entertaining to watch in itself.
Chloe and Rachel are in a relationship that has clearly collapsed, Rachel reintroduces Chloe to Max at a party, Chloe falls for Max hard (and Max falls for Chloe), things get a little dicey but end up working out really good.

Both games suffered from the problem of waiting until the final episode to address the major plot points and not having enough foresight to realize players would come to expect answers to things you as a dev/writer may have originally considered throwaway ideas or lines.

I love the simple coffee ship AU but I can admit it's nothing amazing in terms of writing. The exact same story could be told with characters from a different source. It flows well and works because we're supposed to believe those are the characters personalities.
I suppose with 'Honestly Dishonest' some of the things stand out more because the circumstances may be new but the characters are supposed to be mostly the same as in the game.

"Hooked up" is used a few times in the games, both in sexual and non-sexual ways. Rachel's letter, combined with Stella's words, suggest her hooking up with Jefferson was sexual.
Frank's words there suggest that is not since I don't think Frank would sleep with Nathan.

Rachel really wasn't hiding things in BtS, those developments came later on as all the stresses Rachel was feeling started taking their toll. That particular Tumblr post is stupid though since it misses the entire point of a prequel. Even if in BtS's case perhaps it didn't go far enough in showing a full arc to meet up with the first game but that's because the devs only wanted to show the high point of when Rachel and Chloe first met. They didn't expect some people to start looking for every excuse to invalidate the first game.

This. I made up my mind long before Episode 5 that I was going to save Chloe if it came down to that. I made the choice to save her under the belief everyone else would be confirmed dead. Seeing the actual ending and thinking more about it after playing and I've reached the conclusion that there were a lot of ways for people to survive. I didn't know that when actually playing though.

My personal favorite justification is that there's no reason going back in time would fix anything. Fixing time by going back to before you broke it is like fixing space by walking to where you were when you broke it.

Lies and pain exist in every step of your life, being able to achieve death without any selfish gains (I.e suicide) and instead be able to save hundreds of innocent lives is possibly the greatest form of happiness that can be achieved. Stories don't always end happy. Actually, the definition of happy itself is quite subjective.

Rachel was always a bit fucked up, plus Chloe's influence, plus if Chloe tells her at the end it probably fucks her up a lot.
