There is nothing 'bad' about Lars, and if you ever bothered to play the character you would know that. Tekken is a game of patience, smart decisions, and hard reads. Lars has every tool needed to play Tekken. What Lars is, above all else, is honest. This is why you don't see him often in high level play. You can't abuse something like Dragunov's iwr2, or Devil Jin's 50/50. You have to think when you play Lars, because you have no easy buttons. You understand now, don't you? It's not Lars that is bad, it's that other characters are completely broken. Lars is the only character playing Tekken. Honestly- and I mean this with 100% seriously- If you criticize Lars yet play some braindead bitch-mode character, just quit the game. Cut your Tekken career short, because you will never make it. Keep playing your scrubby Paul thinking you're good because you made it to orange ranks by mashing 2 inputs. Just keep your mouth shut, your opinion is irrelevant. Don't ever call Lars bad again, retard.
Tyler Watson
Is Jim Kojima a good character to learn how to play Tekken with?
Justin Collins
he's got pretty much all the tools you'd want out of a character you could just not bother with his wavedash shit until you've figured out your backwards/sidewards movement and then expand on it
Nicholas Cook
If you find him fun and don't mind some execution stuff later down the road
Asher Sullivan
I made a new thread before noticing this one so I'll post my gay list here
>Bryan vs Asuka is 10:0 matchup, 100% impossible because he lowcrushes her highs. >Paul is holding me back. By the way I can't do quarter circle motions. >The game is very poorly balanced at low levels. >Steve is shit. >Steve is top tier. >Raven can't open up turtles and can't do anything about pressure. >Kazuya's hellsweep tracks both sides. >Jin's RA is the worst in the game because it's high so it's a free launch. >df1,1 extensions are gimmicks because the second hit is high. >It's easy to RA through Claudio's hopkick: just look for when he jumps. >I'm Speedkicks. >Snake Edge doesn't launch, it just knocks down and then you pick them up.
By the way I kinda want to update it after I get like 5 new things to add or something like that. Get to arguing you faggots
Oliver Harris
Nice copypasta, I'm gonna save that one I totally agree. Two of the best players in the world (Nobi and JDCR) are Dragunov players and that's why I think people overrate him when they see him winning every tournament, even when that's because the player is excellent, not because the character is OP. He feels much more "mortal" than Devil Jin and belongs in a lower tier IMO. Strong and easy to play but still below the borderline broken characters.
William Ward
Yeah Jin is mad good in this game, easily top5. He has every tool you could ever want and can be adapted to your playstyle easily. I'd honestly main Jin but his karate style looks like ass and Jin mains are bitches.
Jack Mitchell
Lili literally cannot do anything at all
Jackson Parker
>strawmanning
Blake Long
You have to add "Lili is completely unplayable at high level" and "Lars is the most honest character in the game"
Ian Roberts
But neither of those are wrong?
Dylan Jones
unplayable = cannot do anything
Grayson Hernandez
Okay so who or what the fuck is fil?
Kevin White
I don't know about unplayable but she is objectively speaking a horrible pick because there is no reason to ever use her in the place of any other character.
She has nothing going on
Oliver Cooper
Lili is awful in this game and the only way to make Lars work is through lots of jabs and df1>sidesteps
Kayden Jenkins
Why is there a fucking Steve orgy tonight? 9/10 players I ran into were playing this stupid fucking faggot. And they all played the exact fucking same >poke >poke >poke >oh, you wanted to punish my poke, too bad >CH launch
Jack Harris
sounds like you got downloaded
Joshua White
That's how Steve is supposed to be played. You played right into their game
The official /tekgen/ approved way of fighting Steve is just holding back. He has no lows so he can't hurt you, you just hit him once and then you hold back - that's it, you won the game.
Jacob Young
that's like half the cast
Josiah Sullivan
I’m a forever silver shitter and recognize that. But why are there so many Steves on tonight? Did Aris stream some Steve shit earlier or something?
Nicholas Morgan
I hate fighting steve too don't worry
Ryan Long
m-mommy
Mason Thomas
Tomorrow we're gonna argue about electrics
Wyatt Stewart
Steve is the Axl of Tekken.
Mason Gutierrez
Couple of questions 1. Does Jin have a WR armor attack? Played one earlier and tried to chip him with Kazumi’s f2, but he did some WR move and went completely through it.
2. Why do people say Kazumi’s ff4 is good? I get jabbed out of it every time I try to use it.
Colton Cox
>Just found out about a third 10 hit combo that wasnt in Nina’s move list
Any other interesting/important character stuff that I should know about that isnt listed?
Tyler Jenkins
1.He probably just ran up to you and used 3+4. Running isnt required to use it. 2. Try using ff4 to punish big whiffs.
Hudson Rodriguez
I’ll check into it tomorrow. It looked like he was still in running animation, but I just don’t know enough about his movelist. And I’ll try to incorporate that as more of a whiff punisher.
Gavin Phillips
He probably was running. Most moves can cancel a running animation, but dont require a running animation or a fff input to be used.
Ian Jones
Huh, learned something new today.
Lincoln Price
So will the dlc characters in the future only be guest characters or will they introduce new tekken characters?
Grayson Young
We won't get more characters. Noctis is the last one.
Jordan Peterson
I really want to play a new Tekken 7 character, leaning towards Kazumi, any reccommendations?
Carter Jenkins
no, all new characters have short moves lists and are easy to pick up
Caleb Martinez
She’s simple and solid. Plus, throwing tigers at people is fun.
Zachary Jenkins
Akuma, really cool combos. Shaheen is also pretty good and has many tools
Jose Murphy
Yes but people will complain about lili being so because she makes their dicks wet. Kuma being the worst character bothers a good 2 players tops for example.
Leo Lee
Don't throw out ff4 in jab range. What makes the move so good is that at some range you get a completely safe launcher. Basicly if you're laying back, moving around and stuff and you anticipate your opponent to try doing a move, you can just throw it out almost risk free (don't be obvious with it though because it can still be stepped IIRC). And to top that off it's an excellent whiff punisher.
Gabriel Evans
nice page 10 kekgen...
Jason Gonzalez
tekken is dead
Owen Foster
ur ded
Wyatt Nelson
Players that almost demote you and then leave after 1 loss are fucking scum. Shameless.
Jose Cruz
What if I demote them and then leave?
Nicholas Gray
That's fine.
Benjamin Long
Playing Josie is suffering!
Camden Harris
"I'm getting nervous!" *does unseeable plus on hit low* "Gotta focus!" *df2 crushes your high* "I can't believe I won..." *df4 into meme stance*
Ryder Price
Man... you're pretty weak, huh?
Juan Perry
rip
Sebastian Gutierrez
>Hellsweeps are actually demomen
Jace Perez
Out of curiosity, what's the official way of playing Steve, then? Just poke and CH launch whenever you get the chance?
What if B+1 doesn't work because you're up against someone who has low stances? (Xiaoyu, Eddy, Lars, looking at you fucks.)
Liam Cox
One time I saw two guys kissing in the park and that was the gayest thing I'd ever seen until I met a king player.
Dylan Howard
where did you meet a king player?
Logan Jackson
Hope you guys are watching Char cup
Michael Peterson
So according to a guide, I should be able to use BT flea stance with >backturned FLE can be used with ff+1+2:d+1~2
But no matter what, I can't get it to work. Did it get patched out or something?
Cooper Jackson
uui pls
Asher Myers
>it's another retard paul does deathfist at wall and gets 75% health sasuga franky
Ryan Phillips
Played from like 9am to 4pm today. My hand cramped up like crazy. Slept ever since. And I'm about to start up the game again. Wooowee
Oliver Mitchell
holy shit are paul and bryan niggers so fucking cancer online >always at 3 bars >demoman/death fist is unreactable because of online lag >snake edge and orbital are unreactable because of online lag >these faggots somehow made it to vanquisher
Asher Ross
Is there a character that I can customize to look like a dragon
Jackson Moore
>>demoman/death fist is unreactable because of online lag so you can reat to it offline?
Brandon Williams
learn to spell before replying to my post faggot
Jordan Hall
but realy if you can react to it offline you should go EVO. You can also react to hellsweep right?
Julian Sanders
Imagine being this mad at a video game you'll never be good at
Hudson Reyes
holy shit is tonight just filled with retards? >Asuka retards that just mash parry over and over, and lose >Ling/Eliza niggers that unga and bunga >Steve (df1 spam all day and plus on everything) Fox
Matthew Rodriguez
Should I play Alisa or Asuka?
Bentley Perez
You should play a male character you degen
Ethan Long
Lili
Ayden Murphy
Asuka of course
Oliver Reyes
how hard is lili/how hard does she hit?
James Ortiz
No idea desu, but she's cute.
Christopher Anderson
>>Kazuya's hellsweep tracks both side
You need to sidewalk hellsweeps you retarded nigga. Not sidestep, SIDEWALK.
Asher Perez
I know someone has a dragon head. Maybe law?
Josiah Walker
Feng has a dragon helmet, though I don't think it makes him look like a dragon.
Blake Peterson
"demoman/death fist is unreactable because of online lag"
> how about stop fucking pressuring your opponent. Create some space so that deathfist doesn't connect or low crush when you think they'll throw out a demoman.
"snake edge and orbital are unreactable because of online lag"
>For orbital, again, stop pressuring. Wait and see what your opponent throws out and react. Pick your moments to go in and then space out. >snake edge has a massive startup that's telegraphed as all hell, but with that said, this is actually a move you'll have to lab in order to it's block timings down. You can even set the latency in order to re-create the online lag you've been experiencing.
...Either do these or stop stealing starbucks wifi to play Tekken, for fuck's sake.
Caleb Gutierrez
Screw vs Bound Which of the two did you like more?
Jack Powell
tekken 6 came out when I was like 12 bro I don't fuckin know
Jace Miller
>lose to unga bunga because you try a new character feels bad man.
Easton Foster
Screw. Getting hit by a bound during a combo felt like shit.
Jaxon Rogers
so many frauds in orange ranks
Caleb James
Is Geese fun, will people get mad if I start the game with him
Carson Turner
Yes, if you play Steve you want to bully your opponent and force him to press buttons to get out of pressure, then score a CH when that happens. He's also a very competent turtle, he has very fast moves to interrupt approaches and tons of evasive stances so if the opponent mistimes their approach they will get hurt.
I don't know the specifics against those characters but I'm sure he has to have something. He doesn't get memed any less than the rest of the cast (except King) by Capos and Ling, I think.
Andrew Ward
He's super fun, yes some people get mad at 2D characters but why does that matter. She's easy to play and hits hard as fuck. She has weaknesses like every character, but not lack of damage or difficulty. By the way the new trend in /tekgen/ is saying Lili is the worst character in the game - she's not by a long shot, Knee, Yuu, Nobi and Take who are some of the best players in the world place her in A tier
Josiah Bennett
Who is the most fun to play and why is it ya boy Sergei?
Nathan Clark
He's about as much fun as any other character IMO. I imagine the ones being really fun to play (optimally at least) to be wacky stuff like Yoshimitsu and maybe law. Every character can be fun to play depending on your playstyle.
Camden Ross
I see your point. I just feel like the low grabs and punch parrys are fun af, especially in lowtier combat. It's even more satisfying if you can pull that shit off in anything higher than blue ranks.
Dominic Gray
really? I thought most of her stuff was really unsafe and could get sidestepped easily?
Luis James
I must say I really do like his grab game, it's fun to play around with. Not much of a dragunov player myself though I can see why you'd like him.
Wyatt Turner
does Drag have to be played in a rushdown fashion? i'm a pretty defensive player but he seems like a cool character
Adam Lopez
drag is a pretty flexible character, though rushdown is his preferred style of play, defensive can totally work. He get's pretty good whiff punishing IIRC and his block punishment is good aswell.
Dominic Hernandez
Kazuya and Yoshi are the most fun for me. I don't even know why, they're complete opposites when it comes to play style. One is a movement focused defensive/punishment character and the other is a party animal. But they're both fun.
Colton Wright
mos def rush, its also the most fun. get ur fff2 down and go to town. He's also very fun as a defensive player with his grabgame and whiff punishes.
Levi Gonzalez
>game is dead as fuck because it's morning on a school/work day >none of these bitches rematch kill yourselves.
Jacob Hall
>salty 1-1'd an Eddie and dodged a demotion >got a 1-anything against an eddy N-Nani??? So this... is... the power...of... kaz... uya....
Michael Bell
>face eddy with character you never tried before >try out some mids to use against his RLX stance >they whiff and you get punished, of course >he winquits before I can find out which fucking mid I need to use Hey thanks asshole.
Sebastian Hill
>Snake Edge doesn't launch, it just knocks down and then you pick them up I never said that, faggot, you pick them up as they fall.
Anthony Jenkins
Fuck off retard.
Camden Hall
What's the break on shaheen's command throw? I thought it was 1.
Wyatt Sanders
Who has the most annoying intro + outro? i want to have some fun
Brayden Collins
Nevermind it's 1+2 Who thought it was a good idea to make a 1+2 throw have a 1+4 input? that's extremely confusing.
