No. Just walking away and forgetting about them after the Soviet withdrawal however, was.

Welll calculated risk and it paid off

It wasn't a mistake at all. What was mistake is not supporting them after the Soviets left, which allowed for another civil war to start and the Taliban to emerge and take control.

No, they weren't the taliban, they were defendling their country against commies

2 years later the Berlin wall came down

Every time a Hind gets hit in the tail rotor by a Stinger and crashes, killing everyone on board, an angel gets its wings.

no mashallah

first post best post

yeah they weren't Taliban thank God.

Tbh what pissed him off the most was the Saudis taking US help over the Mujahideen when Saddam invaded Kuwait

I wish the US was as ballsy as the USSR and directly funded rebels instead of autistic proxies like Pakistan who would fund radical tards like Hekatamayar. We should've gone straight in and helped guys like Massoud.

They did nothing wrong
Taliban did nothing wrong either.

This desu, we betrayed Massoud by giving money to those Paki fucks. Ironically he later allied himself with the Russians.

Pakistan is a major non nato US ally

Pakistan is a bunch of spineless cunts who act like they're our allies while backstabbing us and funding our enemies at every step.

So they're like literally any ally of america outside the west

America truly is the great cuck of the world.

Well, they're the global hegemon

>it's another Marxist cucks circlejerking about who hates America and the West the most episode

>Anyone who hates America is a Marxist

America was just the lesser evil during the Cold War.

fuck you and everyone who looks like you

You mean the guys who organized the place, finally started getting the economy off the ground, and put near complete end to the opium trade?

...Who we decided to depose on the basis that they were aiding Osama Bin Laden, who it turns out, wasn't even in the country?

I mean, yeah, they were crazy fundamentalists, but so is everyone else in the country. At least they locked down their shit.

Indeed. When you think about it, he's basically asking his team of saturday morning cartoon mystery detectives be allowed in to solve a grisly rape murder, then becoming outraged that an actual police force is brought in to solve the case instead.

Neglecting the irony that the police in question gave their blessing to the murderer, in addition to putting him power to begin with, and supplying him with chemical weapons less than a decade before.
