what is your layout like?

bluepill me on Ogre3D

the dimwit nodev vs the duke dev

The Torchlight games use it. That's all I know.

standard 2x3 except with the project window a little bigger

The API is pretty enterprise quality.

Someone give me something to do. I'll make something for you for free.

What do you mean, screen dimensions? UI Layout? Or main game screen structure?

Daily reminder that you will never be successful. It is extremely rare for a single person to make a great game with great art, great music, great gameplay, great design, and great programming, all while marketing it correctly.

I don't think UE4 gets enough credit for how customizable the UI is. Sometimes I'll even pull the content browser into another window if I'm working solely on level design.

Progress. Been fixing some bugs from the demo and programmed some mechanics about healing. In this one you can transfer blood from your different body parts, since each body part will have special abilities according to its blood quantity, it involves some strategy to the player to choose what ability they want for the moment if they dont have the necessary materials to restore blood. When you try to transfer more blood than the body part can handle, the leftover is distributed equally on the rest of the body parts.

Can you make a waifu theme song similar to this?

youtube.com/watch?v=MagBV6WZg4A

Jokes on you I'm having fun

That's why I'm going the waifu route. If my game sucks, I can still earn money drawing porn.

...

Also added an elevator.

why

If you right click on a tab you can hide them, usually makes sense to do, especially on the viewport/toolbar ones.

why what?

That's pretty uplifting user, good job. I'm sure implementing it had a lot of ups and downs but you really got from point a to b.

Pretty nice musics. I like the forest one best.

A middle eastern themed background music for an arcade runner.

neat idea, seems tedious and pointless to actually use though

u got sumtin to hide niga??

yes, he's very insecure about his game
or god forbid someone will steal his idea!

Yeah, I'd rather not reveal too much about my game before it's released.

But I have posted a video of it here couple of days ago and got mostly positive feedback!

are you ashamed of your game?

didn't even realize that

thanks user

He didn't buy the high res viewport and filenames assets.

I'm definitely not insecure or ashamed of it. I have posted a video of it here and got positive feedback as I expected. I believe I can only lose by revealing too much, even though I'm probably a bit too paranoid.

Why is Unreal's UI so goddamn ugly?

post a game engine with a good UI

unity's is just as bad if not worse

Godot 3.0

How much % profit should you offer an animator and a sound guy/musician?

I don't think sharing equally is fair.

That's why you pay them per item

>add high score list
>see people play and send new scores
I AM NOT CRYING ALLRIGHT

0%, revshare is asking for trouble

>lmao bro just like be yourself and pay 50 dollars per 32x32 frame and 700 dollars per a 30 second music piece

Equal share gets you super duper brownie points, which are worth more than the extra 50 bucks you'll get out of your "fair" share.

You can't make a serious game in Godot. Literally a hobbyist engine.

In my hypothetical scenario, after removing fees like unreal's 5% etc, 50% of what's left goes to the "company" and the other 50% is split equally among everyone. If there's enough to keep going great, otherwise I just take the "company" money.

Can someone help me with floorcasting in a ray caster? Is it as simple as getting the pixels that make up the player's perspective of the floor? I'm drawing each pixel independently right now but it's really slow. Would putting these in a pixel array buffer first drastically improve performance?

That's fine because I'm a hobby dev currently. I can still sell hobby games though.

Define serious game.

>super duper brownie points
?????

>tfw diagnosed with AIDS
>will probably be dead before I finish my game

>Is it as simple as getting the pixels that make up the player's perspective of the floor?
Yes.

>Would putting these in a pixel array buffer first drastically improve performance?
Hard to say, depends if the bottleneck is the computation or the drawing.

>not having money
>making a game

you're in for a big shock once you come closer to release

Do game jams.

also, AIDS isn't a death sentence. Medicated you can live a normal life. Unless you just can't afford the meds?

>You can't make a game in Godot.
Fixed.

to give you the extra initiative to get the pro version

see, i already blew it all on llc and steam direct

If you actually have AIDS it's too late to medicate. And HIV is still a death sentence, you just die to HIV-induced dementia rather than AIDS.

>having sex and/or sharing drug needles with other people
literally too normie to make games to begin with

aids is a flagship normalfag disease, you were never meant to make game in the first place

Define game.

And I calculate every single pixel? I'm still trying to figure out the transformation for perspective so right now I'm just drawing them flat.

Pretty much. Walls are easier since you only have to do lines but with the floor you've gotta do every pixel.

Thanks bro, it kind of do what is intended to do, but I still need to fix some issues, such as the character doesn't detect the elevator floor and the engine thinks the character is falling, so when the elevator is moving, the character lost the control and he makes kind of mini jumps when going down(webm related)
Thanks, I actually think this wont get used to much as its more of an emergency thing, for example as you don`t have enough resources to restore your blood, so you can regulate yourself your abilities. Also can be useful to regulate your resources, as if you have lost much blood only on a single body part and dont want to waste an object to restore only it, as the objects will restore a percentage of every body part blood count.

it should go without saying always a female protagonist

I don't know where I got it

When I joined Antifa they made me do a blood oath I think it might've been then

Make you redistribute your blood using the analog stick, not some boring menu simulator.

Unreals is way uglier than Unity. It's not even close.

It's ok.

Easier to get started with than bgfx but also includes lots of cruft.

Thanks! I guess I also don't have to get every pixel in between since the perspective transform will likely not draw some of them. I think I should calculate the distance first

Ok, I will search a way to do it more dynamic, I made the menu because I haven`t thought on a good way to do it, but wanted to program the mechanic, probably will change it and remove the menu.

If he already has full blown AIDS, yes, but people often say AIDS when they mean HIV. Even with treatment that late, though, you can still live 10-40 years with treatment. More than enough time to make game. By "medicate" I mean treat it and mitigate it, not cure it.

Please stop fucking meme'ing. A man has a deadly disease.

>dating sim
Just let the player pick, better for self insertion. Have both girls and guys as people you can date regardless of MC's gender so you can approach a wider fanbase of degerates

I've had AIDS for years having to post here with weebs. You get used to it.

btw, this GDC talk about camera math is amazing!
youtube.com/watch?v=tu-Qe66AvtY

Pay upfront. Revshare is gay.

>half an hour to talk about how to shake a camera

>his engine doesn't have built in screen shake
LOL

Not a single one of you mentioned that I forgot about his bikini armor. I'm terribly disappointed.

at least stick to actual game progress and not just (You) bait

>cave story, touhou, dwarve fortress, yume nikki, noitu love, minecraft, don't exist because of meme reasons

Furries get off to showing everyone they are furries. Furry porn itself is pretty meh to these creatures.

Do these sparkles look good?
I'm trying to recreate some of the cool particle effects I saw in BotW.

Girls or gameplay, faggot.

which one of these should i use
i know its pixel shit and i shouldn't use any but pls help me
the far left is head on
the third is what i have been using and hated it and the second one is the one i made just now to clean up the 3rd one and the far right is one i whipped up in about 10 minutes but didn't like it but if its better i'd obv clean it up

All is going well is my DMC-like Princess Peach game.

I have some shitty old project images that I'm down to show off.

...

I didn't even know this existed. These threads been around long? I'm going to be working on 3rd person game in Unity, but I still have to finish my blender learning and make a 3rd person foundation to build off of.

for unity is there any way to stop my build from saving player prefs whenever I close it?

Got pushblocks in. They're blocks. You can push them if you have the proper subweapon equipped.

They look great, imo. The twinkling animation really helps sell it.

If a weapon is needed to move them, wouldn't it make sense to attack the block instead of just walking into them?

There were gamedev threads on /v/ before Veeky Forums existed (there still are sometimes)
But yeah /agdg/ has been around since the start of Veeky Forums.
Good luck with your game user!

A long ass time, it did and still exists as a new thread on /v/ before Veeky Forums existed.

... don't write to it? you have to manually save to playerprefs

It'd be a lot more awkward to push them diagonally if it required a sword hit.

Moving them diagonally now looks awkward. Do you just hold directions when you jump into them?

Accidentally implemented the v2 fonts yesterday

v1 fonts were simpler, but drastically different so it took another while

It's still a little bit off, but I'll fix it up more as I go along

If I have an abritrary group of objects, how can I efficiently add them to a list or 2d-list in order from say left to right?

uh this is probably retarded but I've been using playerprefs to dictate enemy spawns but I;m not saving it manually just setting ints and such.

Hold sub weapon and direction while bumping the block, yeah. Should be interesting to see how much people dislike them.
