Frontiers had amazing evolutions for the beast and human hybrids. I hated the Savers evolutions though, the cgi was boring. Xros Wars was pretty fun but I wouldn't call them the best. I loved the villains in Time Hunters though. It helped that they had older unloved Digimon. The way Dracumon became the teddy bear on Yasyamons back and the mask became Yasyamons was great. It wasn't as good animation wise or as well thought out as Frontier though. Tri's CGI makes me cry. The animated evolutions are kind of cool, the art style is pretty great. They actually improved Dukemon to the point where I thought he went from ugly to badass, but man that animation is manly and weird like it has era,state issues or something. The emphasis on sound effects was amazing though. And the new brave heart was fantastic. I kind of dislike Appmon in general.
Habu did a great job with Mastemon's evolution too. We need more of that.

I didn't like the Xros sequences at all. With them all being designed like transformer toys they could at leats show the actual transformation process instead of just a lame "showing all the componentes and then the fusion already made". OmegaShoutmon and ZeekGreymon evolution were better.

I don't even know how that would work given that Shoutmon itself doesn't seem to form almost any parts of the Digimon he combines into. Although even then, it's not like they avoid that. They do show how Beelzebubmon attaches for X4B and X5B, as well as how Sparrowmon attaches in X5. They also show the Star Sword being put together sometimes
But anyway, they did just fine by having high energy songs and strong buildup by individually naming everything that would combine

at least 80 digimon added to the 250, no digimon removed, there was some rebalancing like nerfs to ulforce veedramon's ability (applies only to itself), brave tornado being neutral element (max 2.0 bonus, not boosted by wargreymon's ability), while some mons were boosted (super ultimates get equip slots, omegamon got pierce skills, etc.)
As for areas, there are 30 maps added to the 60 already present in cybersleuth.
And of course the story is all new so even if you fight some bosses again, the circumstances are completely different.
