I only did Gaoren solo so that's probably why I hate him so much.
Meanwhile, unlike MHTri Ala who was really just a fucking joke, MH3U Ala was quite challenging, I had fun.
Though it's not like I can't see how he could be unfun don't get me wrong.

To be honest the most unfun I ever had in a Monster Hunter game was probably trying to solo Rusted Kush (as a blade master) or 140 Zinogre.
I think I can understand how you felt back then, no fun, just frustration.

you also have a room mate who probably has a Palico of his own combined with that grey Palico who's a vendor of some sort. So that's 3 cats, 2 hunters and possibly whatever pet you catch and bring home
