I know this has been asked a million times before and I've already looked everywhere I could. But just in case somebody here has a magic solution, is there any fucking way to reliably track all current collisions of a 3d rigidbody in unity? Any way to know which collision has stopped existing?

I don't think so. It's not like I'm trying to go to anime conventions and pretend like I know all about the animes. I just like Japanese aesthetics, and anime often has very cool mecha.

Not him but Godot allows you to detect as many collisions with rigid bodies as you want. Are you telling me Unity doesn't have that?

Collisions in OnCollisionEnter and OnCollisionExit never match. If you use OnCollisionStay, you have to manually clear the list every fixed update and pray to god that other scripts don't try to access it while it's empty. There's workarounds but still it's just a stupidly huge amount of work for such a simple thing.

Replays can now be organized in subfolders and I added a replay overlay with a bunch of info, the player name is taken from the subfolder's name and it's usually just a random integer but I can rename it to whatever I want.

the thing is if you have to test everything with everything then maybe you shouldnt blame the engine but yourself because the design of your game is garbage

What are some of the coolest character customization and crafting systems you've seen in an RPG? That can be cRPGs/WRPGs or JRPGs. I'm just looking for inspiration.

I don't know about "cool" but you need a glamour system (when your appareance and equipment can be different)

Just a friendly reminder that it makes a lot more sense to spend 2 weeks working at KFC and commissioning those 4 sprites that you need than spending 17 years practicing art only to be mediocre at it. I want you to succeed.

The amount of stuff to do would be huge but a proper roguelike with animations would be very enjoyable. A roguelike with the old Fire Emblem style attacks and fancy crits is one of my dreams.

Trying to get an idea how devs make sprites. When you download a spritesheet, is that literally the size of the sprites as they were designed. Are these sprites of Shovel Knight the exact size they were originally created to be and then the game just scales them up?

Depends on what your doing. I'm trying to find freelance work but 2018 is my year to Dev. I'm getting close to pulling out a loan to pay myself and maybe another Dev or 2. Currently living of 30k pre tax so if I had the loan it would be somewhere around 20-30k. If that's too low then fuck off because this ain't no AAA title game. Just something I'm trying to get the ball rolling so I can make passive income of as revenue until I can sustain myself and Dev full time.

How do I into clamped camera rotations when parenting the camera? Once I parent it to some arbitrarily rotated object, my own rotations are no longer "valid" because they're not taking into account the parent's rotation and the camera just instantly snaps to a new rotation.
