It looks more like the crystal's girlfriend just broke up with him and now he's heart broken. Don't worry little crystal there are other crystals in the Earth.
Zachary Walker
But user I already watch zero anime, the only problem is I want my game to be very Japanese inspired and have cool ass mecha and stuff, so I should watch more anime to achieve the proper aesthetic.
Easton Bailey
i think i once read some interview with a nintendo dev who said that you should put a face on everything so the player can relate to it emotionally
he showed 2 games, a normal pong game and a pong game where the paddles had cute faces
pic somewhat related
Xavier Adams
Doesn't that make you a poser?
Owen Young

----[ Recap ]---- Game: Bullet Hell Lane Shooter Dev: ADMAN Tools: Unity, Blender Web: sgtadman.itch.io/untitled-bullet-hell-game Progress: + Working on a bomb item type. Might make things more interesting. - Taking a break from the content creator system because it was giving me a fucking headache because Unity's hierarchy is a massive pain in the arse.

I know this has been asked a million times before and I've already looked everywhere I could. But just in case somebody here has a magic solution, is there any fucking way to reliably track all current collisions of a 3d rigidbody in unity? Any way to know which collision has stopped existing?
Ian Rivera
----[ Recap ]---- Game: Project Alchemist Dev: ArAdev Tools: Godot , Krita, Paint.net Web: aradev.itch.io/project-alchemist Progress: +Fixed some bugs from the demo +Added a system to transfer blood from the different body parts, to regulate the abilities that they will have +Added an elevator that can be called from distance with a switch -The character does n`t know that is on the elevator, so he thinks that is falling and cause him to do mini jumps when going down
Robert Adams
you don't have to do that
Alexander Morris
Oh i see. Sorry.
Easton Jones
monday is such a shit day for posting progress
Owen Hughes
why would you even want that?
Dylan Lopez
----[ Recap ]---- Game: Space Dementia Dev: rez Tools: SFML/C++ Web: rezydev.tumblr.com Progress: + Changed slide chaining, still needs some work + Changed running acceleration + Worked on new boss designs
Henry Smith
I don't think so. It's not like I'm trying to go to anime conventions and pretend like I know all about the animes. I just like Japanese aesthetics, and anime often has very cool mecha.
Jackson Scott
Why would not he
Dylan Diaz
Not him but Godot allows you to detect as many collisions with rigid bodies as you want. Are you telling me Unity doesn't have that?
Ryan Barnes
>attach rigidbody >attach script with OnCollisionEnter/Exit/Stay ??? whats your problem ???
Anthony Flores
Collisions in OnCollisionEnter and OnCollisionExit never match. If you use OnCollisionStay, you have to manually clear the list every fixed update and pray to god that other scripts don't try to access it while it's empty. There's workarounds but still it's just a stupidly huge amount of work for such a simple thing.
Connor Jenkins
Replays can now be organized in subfolders and I added a replay overlay with a bunch of info, the player name is taken from the subfolder's name and it's usually just a random integer but I can rename it to whatever I want.
Carson Cook
the thing is if you have to test everything with everything then maybe you shouldnt blame the engine but yourself because the design of your game is garbage
Nicholas Bell
What is the best way to make ropes in unity? What i have managed to do thus far with Rigidbody joints have not been ideal.
Levi Gray
I guess that's right
Eli Clark
LET IT RIP!
Brayden Barnes
I'd like to start making a rogue-like 2D RPG in Godot just for fun. Did these graphics in free time recently.
Brayden Morris
Lookin nice, I like the style
Adam Allen
What are some of the coolest character customization and crafting systems you've seen in an RPG? That can be cRPGs/WRPGs or JRPGs. I'm just looking for inspiration.
Angel Ross
I don't know about "cool" but you need a glamour system (when your appareance and equipment can be different)
Matthew Brown
Just a friendly reminder that it makes a lot more sense to spend 2 weeks working at KFC and commissioning those 4 sprites that you need than spending 17 years practicing art only to be mediocre at it. I want you to succeed.
Hunter Hall
Do it, prototyping in Godot is hella easy
Anthony Martin
What would be the best program to make a 2d Beat 'em up in?
Daniel Murphy
No it doesn't I'd have to get US visa which is a total pain in the ass and also pay for the plane tickets which is way more money than I'd make in 2 weeks working at KFC
Logan Phillips
But perhaps along the way you'd find happiness and wouldn't have to resort to desperate attempts at creating something people deemed worthwhile?
Nathaniel Adams
You can get very good at almost anything in 7 years of real work, and decent in 1-2. I don't know where you got 17 to be mediocre.
Mason Morris
Actual roguelike or """"roguelike"""" ? An actual roguelike with those grafix would be dope.
Matthew Wilson
I have a friend who's an artist and we're collaborating on the game. No need for either of us to pay the other.
Luke Gonzalez
>wouldn't have to resort to desperate attempts at creating something people deemed worthwhile? >he doesn't create games because he simply wants to play his own games >he doesn't know the joy of playing one's own unfinished game
Cameron Nguyen
Not that user, but given the lack of animation frames, I'd imagine it's turn-based at the least.
Luis Anderson
>he doesn't create games because he simply wants to play his own games It's hard to believe someone so full of himself exists
Cooper Clark
I feel like the heart should break faster, almost instantly even. It feels more like you gained a life then lost it.
The spinning attack definitely needs some wind up, all the other attacks have some.
>>he doesn't create games because he simply wants to play his own games >he doesn't create the sequel that will never happen to a game expandingbrain.jpg
The amount of stuff to do would be huge but a proper roguelike with animations would be very enjoyable. A roguelike with the old Fire Emblem style attacks and fancy crits is one of my dreams.
>environment artist I'm an artist. Period. My art does not have constraints, it flows like a river.
Kayden Jones
I was thinking something a-la Dungeon Souls. Perhaps I have misused the word roguelike. I'll see about making animations or a mock-up scene one of these days.
William Garcia
a enemy in progress from my game
Colton Brooks
Trying to get an idea how devs make sprites. When you download a spritesheet, is that literally the size of the sprites as they were designed. Are these sprites of Shovel Knight the exact size they were originally created to be and then the game just scales them up?
Chase Sanchez
I'm an artist, I'm a performance artist. I'm hired to people to fulfill their fantasies, their deep dark fantasies.
Noah Foster
yes spritesheets are ripped straight from games

Oh guys, I just finished writing the shitpost routine for the next week. I really think you're gonna dig it. As for now, tune in, I've got some real gems coming.
Asher Stewart
no idea what that is.
Colton Sullivan
I dont even remember why we gave this enemy that code name, but it has stuck/
Xavier Mitchell
I'm willing to fulfill one sprite request. I am feel generous today, you'd be wise to accept my offer. It's a rare chance to work with an art genius, one you might never get again.
Hudson Miller
one spirte or a whole spritesheet ?
Leo Foster
One sprite

Trying to develope an idle sim game based on tech and the evolving tech.
Takes place circa 90s when internet was slow but not terrible.
Need a full time coder for unity development. I'm learning c# but I could use another one. Maybe an artist. I have a friend who's good with art. This game in 2d and I feel it's easily made but I still need a team to work out details. If anyone is interested reply to this post and maybe I'll post some contract info.
Experience with tech and networking theories would be appreciated.

----[ Recap ]---- Game: MoGiSho (Moth Girl Shooter) Dev: WRIT Tools: GM:S Web: thirdkeyofsun.tumblr.com/,twitter.com/ThirdKeyOfSun Progress: + Started rough animations for Lore's bottle slam + Added ability to manually use Afterglow attack as long as you have gauge + Stripped down intro stage to squares and circles and started redesigning it based on finalized mechanics
Levi Brooks
Most of "professionally" done art is garbage. Just look at all those mobile games with silly cartoonish graphics.
Daniel Foster
a cool cyber punk robot-zombie knight.
Brandon Sanders
It is clear you are not taking my offer seriously. Shame, you could have built the foundation of a multimedia empire atop of my 16x16 sprite. But I guess my greatness is too intimidating for people.
Asher Parker
Depends on what your doing. I'm trying to find freelance work but 2018 is my year to Dev. I'm getting close to pulling out a loan to pay myself and maybe another Dev or 2. Currently living of 30k pre tax so if I had the loan it would be somewhere around 20-30k. If that's too low then fuck off because this ain't no AAA title game. Just something I'm trying to get the ball rolling so I can make passive income of as revenue until I can sustain myself and Dev full time.
Sebastian James
ill eat a family sized cheese baked meat pizza now and then i promise ill make some progress if i dont feel too tired
Charles Cruz

Hey, I got a Q about the upcoming global game jam-
What exactly are the limitations on open-source graphics and\or code libraries?
Like, if I make something on Love2D i can't be arsed to fiddle with a custom made state switcher or shit like that.
What are you allowed to use?
Christian Howard
literally no restrictions on code libraries or tools. Just make a game. I've seen people make board games ffs.
Connor Nguyen
Cool, thanks.
Carter Morales
love2d is a graphics engine not a game engine
Sebastian Garcia
>Doesn't throw his own arms and then go to pick them up Dropped
bvagie.artstation.com/ He uses waaay too much fog and bloom and shit, probably concealing not great assets.
Asher Hughes
How do I into clamped camera rotations when parenting the camera? Once I parent it to some arbitrarily rotated object, my own rotations are no longer "valid" because they're not taking into account the parent's rotation and the camera just instantly snaps to a new rotation.
