When I got ranked silver elite master I felt like top of the world. When I got gold 2 I was feeling like a good player. When I got my ak I felt well, when I got dmg and couldn't queue with my homeboys I was proud and when I reached le, lem supreme and global I felt everytime like was an absolute pro at the game.

Now I'm at global without any goal and start feeling slowly that I'm just the king of scrubs.

What I want to say is that you're good as long as you reach what you're aiming for.

I regularly play with smurfs. My rank is DMG. I regularly play against Smurfs with and without my smurfs, so solo and in a group.

Playing without a Smurf on your team is putting you at a handicap as every MM game has at least one smurf or hacker.

Thoughts?

Depends. If you mean that you're handicapped because your rank doesnt represent your actual skill level then you're correct, but your rank is only a shiny picture.

If you remove all the smurfs from the game then people that were worse than you will still be worse than you and people that were better will still be in a higher rank.

Almost nothing would change.
Assuming you have 2000 people playing this game and every other one is smurfing then you got 3000 accounts - the lowest rank.

global is defined as 0.5% of the playerbase, so global has 15 people in its rank.

Now you remove all smurfs then you've got 200 people playing the game and 200 accounts. Global is still 0.5% but because Nobody can smurf in global people would drop from global to supreme and from supreme to LE all the way down to silver 1 because global can only hold 10 people.
And the chain of 5 people fill in the silver 1 spot.

So if you remove smurfs everybody will get a worse rank on average.

In addition to that you are still worse than poeple higher ranked than you and better than people below you.

You are literally less handicapped.

well dming is not going to make you worse that's for sure. i prefer to do a daily routine of aim_botz, yprac_arena and shit like that because you can pump out more reps in less time that way imo + you can listen to music or an audio book while doing it which you can't with dm because you would get killed from behind all the time and waste a lot of time respawning.

my point isn't that playing dm was bad for improvement, it's bad for judging your own skill because you might as well be playing against bots which would still improve your skill anyway.

I think after about 150~ kills or so in dm you're just wearing out your wrist, take a break and do some neck/wrist stretches, that helps me kinda reset my form. After a while all that quick aiming at random ass spots will have your skill plateau, only real way to make it past that is to find dedicated teammates to practice executes/ nade setups with desu.
