They already made it easier. You should be able to hit exalted in less than a month with a fresh 110 if you spend half an hour on the grind every day, and not much longer than that even if you're taking it easy.

I thought they wouldn't at first, but after forcing myself through the grind I think they'll probably keep it as an excuse to make people return to older content.

Right now the grind is actually really easy, even if they do nothing to make it easier going forward it'll become easier on merit of higher levels from BfA. People will become less and less annoyed by it as more allied races roll out in the future until no one talks about how shitty it is anymore.
