How would the Soviet Union have turned out differently if Trotsky won the power struggle with Stalin?

How would the Soviet Union have turned out differently if Trotsky won the power struggle with Stalin?

everyone would eat communist fried chicken

pol pot would not have killed everyone with glasses

ice climbing would be banned

Don't we have this thread, and what caused the civil war threads at least once a week?

Extra crispy

The center of a giant worldwide clusterfuck of war and assassination until an international coalition bands together and wipes them out.

The Soviet Union would have one the cold war

The Soviet Union would've lost World War II

Remember how Hitler chimped out and everyone ganged up on him? Kind of like that.

Leon Trotsky himself was talented military genius and if he was in power, the great purge of generals would've never happened at the first place.

And how do you think the rest of the world would react to that? see. The biggest difference between Stalin and Trotskiy is that Stalin wanted to focus on the Soviet Union before expanding communism and Trotskiy just wanted to go balls out, whole world revolution.

That's why he would have won WWIII with a 5th column in every nation. The commies would have stabbed their countries in the back, revolted, and sued for peace, just like g*rmany

The commies in the Americas would've been smashed even more violently than they ended up in real life. In Europe you might get few nations to convert/rise up but you don't honestly think GB, Italy, or France would've allowed a united Communist Germany to happen do you? Communism was hated by every capitalist nation immediately after the Russian Revolution, Fascism was only despise after Hitler invaded Poland. You'd get a larger World War II between the Communists and the Allies/Fascists and this is all while the USSR itself isn't exactly united. Russia would've been stomped into nothing.

>Communism was hated by every capitalist nation immediately after the Russian Revolution
That's false, unless you mean hated by the governments.

Trotsky was no pussy and hated Hitler. If anything the Soviet Union might still be around.

People aren't this massive force waiting to be unleashed, they're fucking sheep. The government tells them what to believe and they believe it. Why do you think Communist nations have only been able to gain root in places with completely unqualified, lackadaisical retards in charge? Everyone who wasn't an edgelord in the US despised communism and Europe was full of happy sheep until the Great Depression and even after that the unhappy sheep didn't all become communists. There were plenty of Fascists, monarchists, and Anarchists to even it out. Capitalists are masters at getting two of their enemies to tenderize each other before they come in to clean up.

...

Would history have been different if history had gone differently?

Well yeah.

>military genius
>loses to Poland

And you think 26% would be able to overwhelm the rest of the nation? at most they'd have a split state that their neighbors would immediately help them squash.

What year is this from?

Another 1/3 of those are at least partially sympathetic to communism, all together it's a majority

There's 38% of non-socialists in there, everyone else was voting for the left. In any case, the point is that communism was not hated by the average person. At least not until eastern europe was occupied and stalin's crimes became known.

1945. The same was happening all over europe to different degrees. Stalinism killed it though.

The Soviet Union wouldn't exist. All of East Asia and Siberia would be a god forsaken no man's land full of raving bands of violent Communists. The Proletariat would be armed to the teeth. The death count would be huge.

Or it would have two it.

universities students would worship stalin and wish he won the power struggle
