Its pretty fun but the balance its atrocious, like a demon 20 levels below you could actually own you if you arent prepared because there is no defence stat.
Also the encounter system sucks ass, like stoma sword is the most useless variant of estoma yet to be seen in Megaten.
The story and setting are interesting and there is a lot of content in there. Sadly ATLUS went full jew and made IMPORTANT story background into DLC.
One thing many agree is that the OST is fantastic.
Game is definitely worth to play.

IV is good, but ultimately not amazing. The OST is absolutely fucking stellar though, easily the best aspect of the game by far. Apocalypse however deserves all of the shit it gets. It DID improve the gameplay of IV but everything else (except the OST, once again) took a colossal nosedive into garbageland.
on the other hand, Jonathan goes and crushes Lilith with his huge justice boner while you and Walter mash faces with the Ashura Kai. So it does go hand in hand.
