What makes the game fun is the feeling you get near the end of a game when you think you could win. Even if the game is a mess, the fact it can so consistently create that same sense of real danger and stress is what keeps people playing.

Duos is the best game mode. Squads is too slow too, but by far the easiest game mode.

Why are there so many cheaters in this game? I report 4 out of 5 people that kill me because they are obvious cheaters.

Solos is shit because I need my revive safety net and nobody to talk with while you're sitting on a hill waiting for a zone
Squads can be great fun or boring as shit, generally much better than soo though, potential for best gunfights
Duos has the best players and the most consistent experience
