Dx2 is actually pretty good. I've been playing all day and am still full on stamina. Around level 16 with multiple demons. Pretty slow grind at this rate. Gacha rates are trash but the game has a lot more to offee than other gacha games, if you're a fan of smt.

This game would look so much better if they didn't hire some shitty fucking random to do the character designs. Their art clashes harder than Kaneko's old ass art. The game itself has fluid animations and some of the demon models look amazing, like Nekomata's pants but goddamn that fucking character art is trash.

Artist is the Ace Attorney artist. I imagine they thought it would be a good and recognizable style for normalfags.

SMTIV works ok without those files (and so does Persona Q if you fancy that kind of games), other games might not - some can even crash the emulator.
If you plan to emulate anything other than SMT games you'd better find a 3DS system dump somewhere, if not then you're fine.

DDS 1&2 are so good. I'm surprised that it doesn't get brought up more in discussions about which megaten games to play

The ending of DDS2 was so bad I refuse to recommend it to anyone regardless of how good DDS1 and early-mid DDS2 was.

How was the ending bad? It was consistent with the story's themes on death and renewal, the story's plot, and it allowed the earth to not get totally fucked by letting all of the people (or at least your party members) who were affected by Cuvier Syndrome to be human again

Delicious Demons Saga. Enjoying it a whole lot, almost as much as Nocturne.

This game is way more balanced and feels a whole lot better than Nocturne. You're going to have an amazing time.

I'm curently playing SMTI and plan to play IV:A after since I still have yet to play it but after I might try DDS1. So far it seems like spinoff titles for SMT and me don't really mesh well. I tried both Raidou 1 and Soul Hackers and enjoyed both but neither brought me the absolute joy Nocturne and Strange Journey did. Hopefully DDS is different though the lack of negoiation and creating my own party already kind of bums me out.

I kind of find it interesting that DDS has a set amount of party members in a series that's known for always being able to customize what your party is like. It's also a positive that they give some good characterization and they each have their own little arc/role in the story. Even Mr Quiet Protag Serph has an important role in the story

To me it seemed like Atlus wanted to try a more tradional approach with the DDS games. I think after Nocturne's middling sales they looked at what made games like FFX so successful and found it was a less complex party system and stronger story focus. I guess they still failed though do to still embracing the tone and atmosphere of tradional SMT games.

If I wasn't leveling through FFXIV's main story I'd pick up DDS. I just wish I had a way to play it on the bus/crapper.

I think the intention is to play it like a normal SMT and fuse those endgame demons yourself instead of rolling them, which would be impossible in shit like GO.
Gacha mobage are inherently trashy, though I appreciate that they put effort into models, 3D combat, and OST at least. And we still have SMTV to look forward too while Type-Moon is stuck with mobage cancer for the near future.

Don't delude yourself, it's a fucking mobage, I fully expect the requirement to get the top tier demon will be SMT: Imagine tier of ridiculous.

I'm not denying it's a scam, and fusion is a lame excuse for shitty rates at best. They'll probably increase the rates if the game isn't successful at all. It really should've been a Persona game anyway, since this kind of stuff appeals more to the Persona-only, anti-SMT kind of audience, but I guess they're not that into rolling for the demons themselves. They'd rather lame human waifus.

No, no, it's just the rate are actually ridiculous.
The standard for a 5* or equivalent is between 2 and 5%, Fate GO is an outlier with 1%.
Here it's fucking 0.5% with only two fucking pull.
Even fucking Fate GO give you between 2-7 pulls depending on whether you want a short/fast reroll process.
People have spent literal weeks rerolling for their waifu and the rate in Dx2 is twice lower than that.
Most people would try their luck (and money) rerolling elsewhere.

You don't have to roll though. Just recruit and fuse.

Fusing is not an exactly new mechanic in the mobage world and it always follow a reverse pyramid scheme.
Imagine having to farm 1000 3* demon just to get a 4* demon and you'll need a dozen 4* demon just to get a low tier 5* demon.
I'm barely exagerating here and I'm pretty sure farming 10k 3* demons would be faster in this game than farming the requirement for fusing Alice in Imagine.
Of course, maybe the fusion system in this game will actually be fair so it would be nice if someone could confirm that.
