From what I heard it depends on the Kitsune's personality. They do play tricks that can become dangerous but also specialize in luring/charming/seducing their victims to follow them into the woods before they grow a huge fang filled maw and devour the helpless fool.
At least that is what I read in some folklore stories.

Thank god. Every piece of writing about her, all the MAS lines, everything makes her out to be this perfect waifu that likes everything you like and wants you to better yourself because she loves you so much but you're perfect the way you are.
