I'm a new player, trying to decide which limited character to pick for my Beginner's Draw ticket between Katalina or Eugen. For water, I have Lancelot, Izmir, and Yoda. For earth, I have Vaseraga, Siegfried, and Cagliostro, as well as Titan and Godsworn Alexiel for summons.

Eugen seems like he'd work well with Vas, but I heard Kat's weapon is godlike if you have Varuna. Is Eugen's gun good? Is it worth taking Kat for her sword even though I don't have the summon?

Hounds biggest detriment is a relatively low nuke cap, why would you use a nuke class when you can hit cap with anything, however it's a different case for kirin since you don't hit for shit usually, plus it has gun prof for filling your grid with highest raw attack weapons, which are tia guns for most people

Get Eugen. The gun is good for Titan, just like Murgleis is good for Varina, but since you actually have the damn summons...

Also, Vas/Cag/Siegfried is already plenty good as a team, two tanks with great DPS and a way to buff and sustain them.
