I'll tell you why: The community is slow and made up of the same people and no one does anything new. When something actually happens, even if it is as retarded as Snibetisnabs role-playing, it sticks. Snib wasn't only remembered for never breaking character, but for his genuine personality. I'll agree with you on the point that newfags are shitty retards most of the time and don't understand the history of the community they're becoming a part of. They just have to wait for their own shitty memes to arise. And literally no one is circlejerking over Snib, the topic was only brought up because some desperate shithead wanted to copy and paste the role-playing aspect and is doing a terrible job and is obviously not Snib, so myself and some others have called him out on it.
tl;dr remove yell so that we can get more players and a more robust server history, there is no reason why /osg/ should have 100-200 players in their in game cc at any given time and we have 20-40 players while steadily decreasing
