Crimson vs Corruption

Which do you prefer and why?

I feel like starting a new save but I'm sick and tired of the default world generation. Are there any mods to make the map more interesting? Even basic stuff like mountains would do.

You can download mods that add their own biomes (thorium, chrystilium, spirit, etc) or use large worl enabler to make worlds that are twice as wide as large worlds.
There is also terrcustom which lets you set many different options for your world

You could try getting TerraCustom and fucking around with its settings, bot other than that I don't think there's much else.

TerraCustom has options to change the surface level variation, which can create mountains.

It changes with the rest of the water, so fountains and gemspark halfblocks would both do the trick. I dunno how old those shots are, but I remember there being a problem with screenshots not properly rendering differently colored water.

It looks great as is, but filling in the 1~10 block air gaps with more mud and smoothing out the surface blocks with a hammer and rounding off the undersides of the hanging islands by adding more mud to them could make it all look even better

it used to be downright gamebreaking, but since they've nerfed it it's really just a convenient tool

I have put so many more hours into the corruption than the crimson so I have grown attatched to the place. But the enemy variation, the boss and loot in the crimson is so much better and more fun. Especially love the vampire knives even though they were demolished in a pretty early patch in 1.2

Cause they, too, need to go download it through the Mod browser.

I would advise against using Calamity on a server. Even it it all runs without errors, endgame (post moonlord) stuff creates too many entities for the game to run smoothly, especially when there are multiple people using endgame stuff at once.

Spelunker Potion and just digging around for a while.
If you need them for the MagicStorage mod, kill Vanilla bosses and you'll get Shadow Diamonds on each first kill that work for those recipes.
