I like MHW despite that it has the shortest path to endgame, easiest in the series, and overall just dumbed down but the gameplay is probably at it's peak and that's all that matters.

Also, I think there's something wrong with the game's translation. Berserk gunlance III requires a "Monster bone" in my language, but it doesn't say what size. In my language, Monster bone (S) = Wyvern bone (S).

I'm not sure how they unlock. Maybe keep redoing quests in that map and leveling up the investigation on Legiana.
The quest is like this on the manager screen. It was 8 uses originally. It seems these quests have way higher chance for rare mats.

I believe you're looking for Monster Bone+, which drops earliest from Diabolos.

Yes. You are missing the strong slinger pods the monsters usually drop BEFORE running.
It's usually 100% stagger with those pods.

Not all bowguns are compatible with everything. Some will specialize in firing other kinds of shots.

You can use your slinger to make the monster stop running away. I'm in the fairly early game so my weapons horrific sharpness means I don't particularly mind when anjanath runs away over and over.

how do you level up your levels in the hunters notes? my in-field levels for monsters are maxed but the guide still says level 0
do I have to complete investigations until they go away?
also, can you not capture Kirin with Shock Traps?

Gunlance is COOL but it gets old fast. The sharpness you will never have is annoying.
Lance is too good in this game, mobile as fuck and once you get the hang of counterpokes you start seeing the damage accumulate greatly

Temperest monsters are literally the same monsters except they do slightly more damage

Blast is a status, meaning each time it's applied it builds up and when it meets a threshold it procs. When it procs, it triggers an explosion on the zone where it was last applied, which does a flat amount of damage that ignores defence, and the threshold resets and increases (eg it may take 120 blast the first time, 160 the second time, 200 the third time, etc to proc it).
