It's very, very hard on Maniac or higher. Merric is fine but's hard to raise units in FE12 in higher difficulties I found. Linde is better than him. Aslo make Ryan a memedon ASAP if he starts getting good growths and make Kris either a fighter or a paladin unit.

He's a solid unit. Use him to deal with physical reds, greens, and colorless. Set up an Aether-focused build. Fury+Vantage+Aether+HB Seal, or HB+Vantage+Aether+QR would be simple, effective builds.
