Bowgun shells are made out of nuts and plants and shit dude. They're not exactly US Military grade 5.56 NATO.

Later in the game they get more useful, when shots are actually important because a monster's defenses are too high for your pokes. Once you've fought Kirin you'll see what I mean. The key to being a good GL player is to know when to poke and when to shoot.

>Grappling hook, which can be used to grapple to high areas and dodge attacks almost instantly, as well as giving you plenty of time to heal.
>Even easier mounting thanks to much lower mounting threshold (sometimes activating the mount after 1 hit) and the after mentioned grappling hook, which takes you right back into the monster even if you fail the mount
>Heartbeat telling you when to capture
>Damage numbers, prompt on screen that shows you combos and prompt on screen that shows breaks
>Barely any blood whatsoever
>New skill system removes negative skills and is dumbed down for the masses
>No gunner armor
>Mantles give you OP abilities like flying through the air, never be seen by the monster or a FULL NEW HEALTH BAR
>Traps are placed almost instantly
>Generic orchestral, awful sounding music as well as awful voice acting
>The music for past monsters was also ruined as well
>Generic, non-MH like monster designs
>Pre order bonuses and day 1 DLC
>DLC is overpriced content that should've been in the game in the first place

>HH nerfed, Bow, GS and others got their movesets ruined

You need to come back on a second expedition. They'll be at the bottom of area 10. They'll attack you on Shamos mounts and you need to fuck them up and talk to them in their home to earn their trust

I don't know, it's botanist quests. Be sure to go talk to every NPC with a ! over their head to unlock the quest, then check the optional tab in the quest menu and look for anything "botanist"–– you can see who gave you the quest there.

Key word: reliably. Lobbies are full of people minding their own business doing their own quests.
