Why isn't the Red Douk playable? Along with Border Princes, even if they don't have any special fluff.

Not sure why they aren't, but you can play as Red Duke with a faction unlocker.

Oh, and ignore what cheaterposter says, mods can fix things. Cataph's Southern Realms gives unique units and lords to Tilea, Estalia, Border Princes, and New World Colonies. Balanced just fine compared to the other factions.

I tried the faction unlocker mod but it told me to fuck off because I didn't have all the DLC. Are there individual mods for that so I don't have to buy WE?

It's strange how consistently CA manages to fix some things and break others in the process.

Its hella good, be sure to take on the extra mod that removes vampy monsters though, adds to the fun.
Oh ALSO Krak-a-Drak, its the only manly way to play dorfs, and they make for fucking cool dudes to deal with.

His "poison" isn't the real poison debuff but a weaker version for example. I wouldnt start with him but he has a nice skill that buffs research rate so you can recruit him, get his skill and replace him with a generic vampire lord.

If the poison is shit then that explains it, though 20% replenishment is still massive.

His passives are great, but he himself is just disappointing. Necromancer, so he can't fight whereas a vampire kicks as much ass as a melee lord and still casts. Summoning GG instead of zombie/skele is actually weaker since they're worse at bogging down, and he's a literal who.

he's basically just an immortal necromancer lord, very lacklustre for a LL
best part about him is the 20% research boost he gives you, and he doesn't even need to be on the map for that

They fall out of favor once you can afford full GG stacks.

Honestly I wish there was a vamp lord that buffed zombies/skeles stats so they're just a bit better and you can justify them over GG once you hit late game.

Abhorash has no desires of global conquest. I like him too but he wouldn't be a good choice for it. Plus Duke and Walach are already representing the Blood Dragons.

Considering Duke and Walach aren't 'offically' playable the sire of the greatest Bloodline should be.

He is the best the VC has to offer, with a lot of fun lore and options for quest battles. If anything he should be included in a similar role as the Green Knight,
