Does the Odogaron set bonus, Punishing Draw, work with Slicing ammo on the HBG? Says it increases stun effect on draw attacks. Is that specific to a certain weapon (i.e.katana) or just any slicing damage dealt?

I don't really see to many people actually using it. More people are using the Switch Axe.

There are only a few craftable weapons. So if you want try something new you have to go through the lr upgrade path. These usually dont require many mats so a whole investigation isnt necessary.

I see Greatsword users often running up the side of vertical faces and jumping off to do jump attacks on monsters and mount them. Is this something unique to Greatswords or is there something I'm missing about basic controls?

no. there is clear progression with gear. nothing radnom about it. The only thing RNG about the game is the materials that drop from a monster when you kill/capture it.

Everyone can do that, look for walls with shelf mushrooms.
