What's the best way to build a character in Fallout 4 around using Power Armor constantly in survival?
Is taking Nuclear Physicist abolutely mandatory or is it more of a luxury? Also what's a more viable choice of weapon: melee or heavy? All my playthroughs I've only used non-automatic rifles and never bothered with Power Armor out of fear that my fusion cores would run out, but now I want to try something different.

It's just that with a trench like that, it means they were either defending a location for an extended amount of time, and/or, as the bayonets would suggest, they were in a World War I-style stalemate, locked in a prolonged conflict with whoever is the opposing faction.
BOS seems highly unlikely since they could just storm the lines with power armour and wreak a havoc in the trench with a few heavy weapons.
For raiders and tribes, they'd have to be pretty damn organized to push the NCR to a point where they need to dig in.
It's not to say NCR would never dig in, the art is pretty cool and all, but like I said, it just makes me wonder.

If the Operators take over the power plant, the other two gangs would die as they walk up the street to the power plant.
The other two gangs and their hurp derp knives and hurp derp AKs would probably not be able to kill the other two gangs on the road, but the Operators specialize in this engagement range.
But of course, you're the player character and whoever you side with wins but this is interesting to think about.

Fallout 4 just wasn't meant to be played with Power Armor outside special occasions.
Come to think of it, I have never really used it ever since Bethesda took over. It was pretty lame in 3 and NV and now it's too bothersome. Being a stealth sniper beats being a tank every time.

In the vanilla game, guns have names like 10mm, assault rifle, handmade assault rifle, submachine gun, laser rifle, .44, etc.
Most mods use real world names i.e a Scar L mod will use the name Scar L in game instead of something like Combat Carbine or Heavy Assault Rifle or whatever. And that triggers my autism
