The rebellion is bittersweet. The hypocrisy is an important part of the trilogy's story. You can only mix power hungry idiots and bleeding heart idealists for so long. Replay as rebel and pay special attention to all characters involved and their backstories. You will be surprised at some geneforge 4 and 5 appearances.

You can find them in lost river. Green table corals.

I'm trying to sympathize with the rebels, really. But they are not making it easy. It was hard to not feel bad for them in G1, and everyone was an asshole, insane or both in G2 so siding with even the Takers really wasn't much worse than the alternative. But G3 is making a good case for taking this rebellion down before these retards burn everything to the ground.

The implied ending to 2 is the genocidal maniac one. The apprentice followed shaper law to a t and acted as judge, jury and executioner and was rewarded for it. I think it's because jeff realized people didn't pay much attention to the lore in geneforge 1 and simply choose the sides offered to them when the lore said they were all wrong

Lore wise, the takers got fucking rekt and only survived because the awakened took pity on them and let them use their boats. And nobody is friends in the rebellion.
