It's a misconception that Medusa was raped. You can look up old poems and such. The way they phrase it just gives away that Medusa and Poseidon had sex in Athena's temple. It typically doesn't get much more detailed than saying Poseidon fucked Medusa, or that Poseidon violated Medusa, or that Poseidon seduced and then fucked Medusa. Details are invariably sparse.

In any case, it's misleading to say Medusa was raped.
