Recently Sonic Boom has piqued my interest. As an American fan of the series, I was always put off by how overtly Japanesey the series felt after the 90s. The explicitly "anime" style after the transition in to 3d always left me feeling distraught from the franchise after they moved away from it, the Sonic Adventure games were really off putting in this aspect. Now of course you can argue that the old sonic games were "anime" to an extent but because of how much more simple they were in nature it was easier to brush it off and interpret it more as a cartoon. I even much prefer the american design of Sonic because after they abandoned the much "cooler" design Sonic lost much of what made him cool. but sonic Rise of Lyric takes Sonic back to being more cool, while of course not completely emulative of the old sonic style the blend of more american comedy and animation with the style of gameplay and art that makes contemporary western games so great makes Rise of Lyric one of the more appealing sonic games to come out.

After watching this all go down, my opinion on Bumpfags has plummeted and I'd honestly rather see Omochao as the tutorial in the game rather than these shitposters' waifu. If nothing else, she could be relegated to an art gallery in the menu or a separate "tips" section that expands on the tutorial in a text based menu or something.
