In UE4, I want to make a DataTable row schema for weapons in my game, but generically so that other people can extend it if they want. But you can't subclass structs with Blueprints.

Anyone have ideas on how else I could design a system?

I got that it was pathfinding, but I was wondering what the difference was between the highlighed and non-highlighted paths. I couldn't tell what the red outline, blue colored nodes were, but I guess you're just using a different color scheme when outside of the parameter?

How the fuck did Terraria do it? It was developed for 5 months and sold a million in only a couple months after release.

It just stole Minecraft's idea and made it 2d. Find a really popular game and change its dimensions.

2D battle royale is a gold mine just waiting for someone to figure out.

It's merely a debug overlay glitch, the floor appears to draw above the solid blue but below the text.
Unless you mean some of the blocks appearing 'brighter', that's propably because of the sprites layering, also a bug of the debug overlay that i'll never bother fixing since the overlay is just a quick-fix to see pathfinding at work and not an integral part of the game.

Leader boards and/or very clear timing and scoring for levels or playthroughs. Competition makes people talk about a game.

Build that viral marketing directly into the game, make it effortless to viral market. It's even better if your game can easily be played back in a short gif, look at Magnum Opus for an example of that.

If you think about it, its kind of ridiculous how much time they wasted on that game considering that that map and cast of characters is tiny and the most complex thing about it is some randomly generated dungeons.

You could say that the art was the time sink, but if you look at how the characters often degenerated in appearance over over the revisions, you have to wonder what was actually going on.

It wasn't a "they", it was 1 (one) guy that made the entire game, including the art, dialogue, music, and story. And he made it during his free time while working a real job. He got a publisher towards the end of development, who helped with marketing, but the game itself was made by just him.
If you think you could make that much progress by yourself faster, by all means do it.

Even if it did, it's most likely mediocre just like his game. The only good thing about stardew valley is pc-friendly ui. everything else is copy pasted harvest moon friends of mineral town.
