I just switched to hammer after I could make Nergigantes hammer. I have Attack 7, Weakness 3 and stamina surge 3. I don't have any slugger. Is slugger a must have? Will I get it through gems in the future, as my gems right now are ass..

How did y'all like the Xeno fight? Just beat it myself, was quite enjoyable compared to some of the other monsters in the game.

IG was so extremely useful for that fight, I feel bad for non-IG melee users.

let me make sure I understand: fire attack and the other elemental skills only improve your existing elemental attack, so they're pointless if you don't have that element, right?

Element is fine, raw is fine, I’ve not heard good things about Blast although I personally love it. The top bow players, at least the ones who make content, swear by raw DPS and power coatings

Wow... uh, this final boss, whoever it is, might be one of the worst bossfights I've ever seen.

He's basically Midir from Dark Souls 3, except he attacks less and draws the fight out aeons longer. I'm tempted to just fire off the SOS but honestly I don't want to subject anyone else to this.

Between this and the Zorah Magdaros quest, this game has some of the weakest scenarios in a game I've purchased at full price. The dichotomy between this monotony and the relative thrill of fighting Nergigante or Rathalos is really surprising.

I guess this is a thing with Japanese games, though. Lost Planet had the same problem.

Anyone else a bit disappointed with how they set up the endgame grind? It's weird how they combined mechanics that are good separately but don't work together at all

>expeditions are good for just exploring the map and are more convenient than the old gathering quests, you don't even need to deliver a paw pass to go back
>investigations are good, you can now grind different quests for monsters you want sets for and get extra bonuses for it
>streamstones are great, granting a new tier of customization for weapons and even putting lower tiers in the same field as rarity 8 weapons cause they have more slots
>tempereds are a new challenge that require the player to master the hunt or be oneshotted

But you combine all of these, they just don't work. I hate having to go to expeditions to get blue tracks for a measly change at a random investigation showing up with a tempered monster in it, it just bloats the grind for streamstones so hard. I know the endgame is supposed to be hard but why put more stuff to stop the player from actually fighting the monsters for the rewards?

Halves sharpness loss/shots have a chance to not expend ammo.
Prolongs powers like the IG's buffs and LS's power up.
