Because easy mode doesn't otherwise exist in a Souls game.

Wyatt Myers
Does anyone unironically believe that losing a few souls to bloodstains and SM makes their character irredeemably bad for PvP? I can't wrap my head around this not being a meme. >red signs and red eye orbs have an upward range in every game, whenever you invade or place a sign the enemy has a potential level advantage >white signs have an upward range, whenever a host summons you into a gank squad you are at a potential disadvantage >dragon signs have an upward range
I can't understand how someone looks at DS1's infinite upward range on red eye orbs where his SL50 build can invade a SL600 and then thinks the potential 1/10th of a meta level they lost to bloodstains makes their build irredeemably bad
Josiah Walker
it's crazy how Miyazki could produce such a cool game and then force you to buy a subpar console to play it in 30fps
Michael Smith
i wouldnt even say 30 fps. its more often lower than 30 than it is straight 30
Carter Reyes
Dark Souls 3 has better feet though.
Asher Gutierrez
people like to minmax
from a psychological perspective, invading upwards is seen as an inherent rule of the game. soul memory makes it so that you're losing an advantage you would have otherwise had; and through the course of natural actions to boot.
it's not a bad idea, it just feels unfair. at the end of the day, player perception matters the most. whether or not it's reasonable
Aaron Carter
can we not have ONE thread without footfags shitting up the general
Evan King
It had more to do with the fact that SM was something completely out of your control, more than that a few dropped souls here and there would drastically affect you. Though, there was also the issue of (1) certain things only being available through enemy drop, and (2) CoC respawning not even becoming a feature until much later in the game's lifespan.
Ryder Phillips
uhhhh retard? demon's souls?
Hunter Young
>soul memory makes it so that you're losing an advantage you would have otherwise had That's the part I don't understand, you are not losing an advantage since you never had one to begin with, again 1 had INFINITE upward scaling so if the person you were invading decided not to stick to SLwhatever meta then you could jolly well go fuck yourself and enjoy his NG+++++ SL300 build
Juan Perez
Like I said, it's about perceived loss rather than actual loss. People (and animals) are always more upset at having something taken away than not being given something.
Ethan Wright
On a practical basis, nobody would actually farm themselves up that high unless they were deliberately trying to be a forest cunt, and if I remember right NG cycle actually did affect matchmaking in DaS1.
Austin Smith
>Based >Had a mental breakdown and wussed out of his church duties on his first pilgrimage to a harsh place >Killed everyone who traveled there with him like an asshole >Killed the actual leaders of the Valley of Defilement (his corpse pile is the only place in the game where you can find dead bodies in the Shaman set) >Is the minion of a bitch who sits on a literal pile of gold taken from the people she claims to care for >Said bitch is the reason why those people are now losing their very souls, the one thing their previous hardship couldn't take from them >This bitch also tells people to leave but bars them from doing so >Projects his hatred of God onto any random passerby >Pretends that the suffering of the Valley of Defilement's denizens has been his and Astraea's suffering >He gets no respect or acknowledgement from the people of the Valley of Defilement at all. >Bitch has room on her gold pile but makes him sit in the plague water among dead bodies >If Astraea dies and he's still alive the weight of all the bridges he's foolishly burned causes him to kill himself
Garl Vinland isn't based at all.
Sebastian Adams
why did edgy shitters take over the abyss watchers and fallen knight set. i wanna use parts of each for fashion but i dont wanna be associated with "lel DAE artorias is LITRELLY GUTSS??????" group
Justin Bailey
I'll just accept that I don't get it then > I remember right NG cycle actually did affect matchmaking in DaS1. You might be right but I kind of remember people going into at least NG+ to farm for a SL120 build, only in the later days did soul duping for SL120 in NG become a thing
Juan Moore
fallen knight has been the shitter uniform since day one user
Christopher Sanchez
Use whatever you want.
Brandon Rogers
I recently finished a full playthrough of DaS3 after stopping pre-DLC, and I'm absolutely baffled by the arena PVP scene this game has now. Whenever I hear people talk about arena PVP, it sounds like the gayest fucking thing in the world, and I can't imagine anyone willingly engaging in it. >Constant Tears of Denial >Constantly dealing with OP/shitter weapons >Constantly dealing with the same five viable spells >Constantly dealing with passive play >Basically just "my build beats your build and i'm going to make you unconsciously want to die"
Do people take this shit as seriously as it seems? Why?
Zachary Roberts
Because fallen knight is one of the earliest non-starting sets you get, and it's ~kewl~. Nothing says edgy shitter like black armor with a sicc duster thrown over it. Similarly, the abyss watchers set is for people who want to be leather daddies, so they settle for a cape instead.
Robert Hernandez

>playing ds1 for the first time >manage to kill the Black Knight in the initial area as a Pyro, get the BK Sword >kill the second one in the Parish, get BK shield a-am I set /dsg/?
Robert Walker
Yeah, enjoy steamrolling through the game >SL1 >Taurus drops greataxe >Capra drops machete >Parish Gargoyle drops halberd (I know it's a guaranteed later on but I barely ever got it that early) >Balder Knight drops BSS
Julian Lee
Yeah, you're good. However... >first time Just, whatever you do, don't blindly follow a guide. Asking /dsg/ for help is preferable; we need something other than DaS3 PvP memes and circlejerking to post about. And the Souls games are best enjoyed blind, but with tips from other players. The first-timer's curse is to play through the game following an online guide. There's no sense of exploration or discovery in that. You can read all the guides you want when you've first beaten the game by yourself.
Jaxon Gray
anyone wanna summon a sunbro to fight gargoyles so I can get my sunlight sheckels?

I'm SL 25 btw

Very good, very good indeed.

do you guys judge your summons if you dont win the bossfight?
Oliver Perez
depends on how retarded they were

I don't really summon but only if the phantom just dicks around intentionally not doing anything.
Thomas Jenkins
which platform? I'm SL 18 right now on PC

It's down, will pick it up and place it down every 30 secs

yep all good get read for the jolly cooperation

But feetposting only improves the general
Witches are almost always cute unless they are old hags.
Gavin Sanchez
that was uh, quick. I think i'm gonna avoid summoning from now on, it's gonna ruin the first playthrough
Adrian Lee
haha have fun friendo, thank you for the medal
Parker Miller
why do you faggots suck the dick of this god awful artist
Michael Sanchez
Speaking of feet, why the hell is Blissful Creamfilled unable to melee you? I bullied her around in the Archives last night and even though she got a parry off with her dagger she didn't have any melee attacks to capitalize on.
Gabriel Parker
Scas does very good asses and feet.
Brayden Morgan
i guess if you like retarded looking soles and broken ankles, yeah
Ryan Wood
OwO
Aiden Fisher
She uses the crystal rapier in the untendies, but for some reason she doesn't pull it out in the archives, not even for ripostes or if VoS'd
Landon Hernandez
Weird, maybe they didn't want there to be more melee fighters gangbanging you than Kamui and Albert.
Levi Hill
>200 hours in, still no platinum i want to fucking kill myself i dont even care about platinum, i just need to 100% literally everything, autism is a curse
Samuel Turner
Because group invasions arent a thing. People are scrubs and all but the game really modivates you to play that way. It's the same with host babysitting; if the host dies everyone goes home, so most phantoms perfer it of their hosts stand back and let them clear the level. It's a fundemental problem with the game and not just the playerbase.
Jack Martin
>modivates Well fuck me, I gotta stop posting so early
Leo Phillips
What level range should I go through ds2 ng++? I need the items that ghost cunt sells.
Jace Sanders
You should be SL200 already or really close to it if you're done with NG+, after that levels get a ton more expensive so it's not that worth it
David Taylor
Ok cool. I've used ascetics in a few areas and I think I can handle things alright. I'm 162 now.
Liam Morris
Rate these girls by their feet: Maiden in Black Priscilla Iosefka Firekeeper Friede
Andrew Garcia
can we stop with the feet discussion already there must be a million feet thread on /h/, /e/ and /d/ why do you have to post about that here
Josiah Diaz
If invasions are part of the game so are ganks. You love annoying others, so there you go. Git gud
Benjamin Jackson
Doesn't matter too much, peak in power at around SL150-200 depending on how much you invested into casting stats, after that levels become so expensive you mostly only get them from killing bosses so it balances itself out. Agape ring and SM is where it's at, your actual level is irrelevant for online, for just PvE there is never a reason to stop leveling if you plan on going to NG+ or above
Eli Wright
I'd rather ask why you keep getting triggered, feet have always been posted here, but you started chimping out only recently. You're one of the newfags drawn to /dsg/ by news of the remaster.
Aiden Walker
It's literally the first time I've complained about feet on /dsg/, I've been lurking around here since DS2's release or something like that, and posting since I started actually playing the games in last march or so I guess I'd rather have feet than a dead general and the same pvp webms over and over and over again but I still don't know why people would rather post about a fetish in a vidya thread instead of a porn board I just don't understand, just go fap already and then come here
Kayden Perry
No they haven't feet are the new retard that took over after luci left, I don't really care because filtering you is easy but I am confused as to why you feel the need to shitpost instead of just mastrubating and then playing videogames
Jace Foster
Bow of Want is the best normal bow in the entire series. Prove me wrong.
Jason Williams
DaS Pharis
Blake Bennett
what is the Black knight shield for 500, Alex.
Liam Collins
I'd have to go : Maiden in Black (she also wiggles them in the air which is cute) > Iosefka (you get a good look at her bare soles on the table, what a nasty footslut) > Friede (also get a good look of her soles, fights barefooted and allows you to get good views of her feetsies > Priscilla (fan art of her is lovely but sadly you can't get a good look of her soles in-game) > Fire Keeper (can't almost ever see her feet properly)
I'm only counting in-game depictions on this one.
Lucas Lewis
>Dark Souls 1 remaster comes >I have to platinum another game
I never bothered to plat it on the original platforms though, DS1R is my new chance.
Parker Kelly
But can it fire fucking LIGHTNING BOLTS and deal hueg lightning damage?
Didn't know the Black K***ht shield could be used as a bow.
Adam Barnes
Simon's Bowblade
Justin Baker
Sea Bow for literally infinite range
Bentley Edwards
It's just one guy. Just ignore, we've had much worse. I'd take a hundred feetfags over 4kingsfag or luci.
Michael Garcia
is there ever really a reason to use something besides pyro/wanderer/bandit/cleric in 1?
Landon Scott
Thief starts with the best weapon and let's you do do stray/wolf extremely easily at low levels
Jaxon Sanders
Roleplay Immediate access to class equipment you want
Wyatt Bell
Warrior is pretty nice if you're going Quality Sorcerer is also decent for pure int obv Thief steamrolls the early game and is very nice for Dex/Int builds Deprived is Deprived I find Hunter to be better than Wanderer for minmaxing if you plan to go pure melee
desu the only class that isn't really worth it is Knight since early fatroll is annoying, and you can get the armor quickly by skipping past havel
Jaxson Thomas
>since early fatroll is annoying You can just take off everything but the pants and fastroll.
Henry Turner
>Warrior is pretty nice if you're going Quality Just use bandit, bandit's 8/10 gives you more defense than warrior's 9/9 for whatever reason
>Sorc I guess it saves a point of str over wanderer even if you're also leveling dex, it's just that I'm usually using mlgs or something on int builds
>I find Hunter to be better than Wanderer for minmaxing if you plan to go pure melee I guess if you need two less strength than bandit it saves you one SL, but if you want attunement slots for BF may as well use pyro
Bentley Gutierrez
If the next From fantasy game has pvp / invasions and covenants, I'd like if there were more long-term incentives to invade / protect besides just getting the thing you want in PvE and then be done with it.
Although it's probably pretty hard to do aside from implementing more MMO-like events which I don't really want all that much, but something to make you want to keep grinding invasions / co-op (although the rewards should be achievable in PvE at least somehow).
I mean, the Darkmoons and some covenants have the "best of" lists but it's so barebones and only really rewards the few turboautists and cheaters. I think it'd be interesting if they tried doing something akin to a turf war thing where covenant members winning battles in certain areas would shift that area's "world tendency" and maybe shift them to be harder or covenant interaction and rank unlocking new modes in PvP like for example if you turn in 100 / 200 / 300 pale tongue equivalents, you unlock the chance to get summoned to help the boss associated with the covenant a la Mirror Squire and you would get scaled down to match the host's Soul level if applicable.
We should also have more covenant-specific questlines like helping covenant related NPCs Sirris / Anri style and more of them would influence NPC relations and such so being in certain covenants might bar you from using certain bonfires / trade hubs / shortcuts but conversely unlock other ones.
