Honestly, nothing is as good for general damage as Slicing Rounds. Carry as many as you can, plus the materials to make more.

I only take Slicing, Cluster 3 and Para. Anything that can carry slicing 2 is usable, with Vaal's being top tier but I don't know why, it really is the brainlet weapon

Oh yeah, back in previous games it actually helped a lot. The actual speed you run at with the axe caught me off guard when I tried it in the beta.

Slicing LBG is absurd. Unless it gets nerfed I'd say it's not far off from the game's equivalent of the Kelbi Bow.

You could do a fade slash to axe with R + L↓ mid-combo (single slashes being faster), but generally the side hops are your form of defense since they have a fairly sizeable window at which you can do them.

Vaal's loads exactly the same amount of slicing as 5 other bowguns, some of which have practically identical raw. It's just everyone says it's better than Rathbuster and Daora so I go with it.

i mean like, theres a monster running straight at me, and under normal circumstances i would dodge roll to the side and be totally safe
