The doujins that do this are the best desu. Stories that include Saihara being frustrated by how Ouma doesn't allow himself to be figured out really manage to hit what makes the pairing and their dynamic so interesting in the first place.

Also kinda ties into why I like when Ouma's creepier faces are included because then he usually doesn't end up as just a pure and playful uwu baby which tends to happen a lot with Salmon Mode stuff.

Hey, you all remember these early theories about Shuichi and Kirumi being related because of sameface, right? Well, apparently someone is making a series of fanfics about that: archiveofourown.org/series/930762

He's an overobsessed danganronpa fanboy (supposedly), not a serial rapist or stalker. People seem to conflate the two and it's pretty gross.

There's a lot of interesting things you could explore for why Ouma won't let himself be figured out, what there is to him behind all the lies and what he's comfortable letting out about himself and how Saihara could approach learning about the first two things (as well as his reasonable frustration with how Ouma interacts with him).

Ouma is playful and cheeky when not in a killing game but those faces are obviously part of an image he wants to put out, so including them is definitely better than owo little pure baby.

You know what be cool? If you were playing the game on any of the character's birthdays and you get some sort of bonus/extra scene with them. Like if you gift them on their birthday, it's an instant level up, or you get special dialogue. Little touches like that would be really neat if they did something like that, for future games. Since some games do incorporate stuff like that for the players birthdays. That be a really nice touch if they incorporated something like that, for a future game.
