When I started moving coins I was something like 70% BTC / 20% ETH / 10% XRP, but because of all these launches BTC only accounts for about 15% of total, ETH and XRP right now are by far the bulkiest bags.

As coins have spiked I've taken off little slices to drop on more ambitious projects and have fingers in 11 or so pies right now

to answer your question, get a coinbase account, buy however much bitcoins worth of money you want and then transfer it to kraken. then just put in a trade order to get XRP and you are good.

It's probably too many to be honest, I've got some decent angles covered but have multiple selections on each eg XRP and XEM for the banking thing - both have been solid thus far so can't really complain but I'm 'only' showing bout +200% on XEM vs +1000%+ on XRP, so economically it's a costly way of doing things right now, I like the cover though.

I don't think there's a Ripple wallet, so I use the most reputable exchange I could find, which is Kraken.
