Fallout NV is the best RPG experience in the series. Fallout 4 is good as a settlement building game, and for mods.

Just skip to Fallout 4, friend. Its arguably better than the previous one and dare I say, than Fallout 3. New Vegas is just more of the same not to mention it doesn't have many community made content and worse no Creation Club support! If you play the 4th one with all the DLCs installed(better if Season Pass) you get tons more content, better graphics and most of all innate Creation Club support for the best community made content curated directly by Bethesda Softworks available!

Is there a mod that lets you target body parts in VATS when using melee and unarmed? My New Vegas with its grand total of two whole mods is almost perfect except for that.

Fortunately there's a mod that restores the Combat Zone content, so you can do just that. It also reverts the original meeting with Cait to you having to fight her to recruit her. Why they changed this prior to release, no one knows.

What's the worst possible playstyle? One would think that it's minmaxing to do absolutely everything and max out every skill like it's vanilla Skyrim or something, but for me it was Communism which is even more boring.

Melee.

This is a game made for guns. If you want to hit things with a stick or an oversized butterknife, stick to Skyrim like the rest of the Bethkiddies.

Well it doesn't help that the viable ways to do melee and unarmed from Fallout 1 and 2 are no longer supported It goes like this:

I thought melee and unarmed were quite fun in New Vegas, but 4 dropped the ball with it.

melee's always been kinda terrible imo in 3D fallout
but in fo4 it's definitely worse off just by virtue of having really boring melee weapons, there just aren't enough options and modding them is abysmal

I can't stand the look of the shotgun and combat rifle in 1st person in FO4.

the FO4 combat shotgun is just really bland, I hate the modular shit with the rifle/shotgun, they both are just really boring and don't stand out from each other at all

The Enclave in Broken Steel took control of a satelite that dropped kinetic orbital strikes and Big MT apparently had a network of satelites for teleportation.

iirc since Fallout 1 has no conversation log or quest diary, you have to remember what NPCs said, and if you ask the same question from one person multiple times they'll think of you as an idiot and treat you differently.

I want to make cryo shit great again. I'm thinking more and better cryo guns, the armor and creatures balanced around cryo weaponry/effects(warm jackets and fur adding protection, etc), cryo based perks, cryo variants of PA, some kind of rad Mr. Freeze armor, etc. They went through the trouble of making cryo element, why not use the shit out of it.
