Does CTF go away forever after the event? This mode has legit potential, not like the gimmicky Lucioball and Mei events. With slight tweaks and more dedicated maps this could easily become an integral part of the game. Shit, the new map by itself is already less stalemate prone than some of TF2's slower CTF maps

How do you guys get over being too nervous to play comp? I feel like there's a noticeable skill difference between me and most quick players and I'm getting bored of not getting to develop actual strategy and skill as low level players don't force me to play disciplined and polished. I'm scared of throwing unintentionally or being in over my head and getting torn up by my teammates. I have no friends to play with either.

You should be more worried about not getting throwing team mates or 5 DPS teams.
If you're doing bad then ask to switch roles.
Because it's likely that you have things that you can improve and that being negative only tilts you and your team causing you to play worse. Just play better and you'll climb. You aren't anyone's boss.

Getting lucky or unlucky with your team has no bearing on your placement with a large enough sample size of games
Doomfist is like Symmetra. They just don't work against competent coordinated teams. There's no way you can fix them without making them OP or doing an actual complete rework.

Because most often the act of blaming one's team is used as a scapegoat to avoid reflecting on one's own mistakes. Also it's trite because of the frequency with which we see it.
To be fair builders barely work and they were only put in to please TF2 transplants. Doomfist was only included to stop the reddit circlejerk. A character built around melee doesn't work without a massive movable shield.

There's also the fact that Doomfist's abilities just don't work sometimes. Except against stationary targets it might as well be a dice roll any time you use an ability.
