Here's how the new races work --

When you have the new expansion (Battle for Azeroth) you will be able to do a quest for an allied race after meeting a criteria (for Highmountain Tauren it's being exalted with Highmountain + doing the highmountain embassy quest). After you have done that on ONE character, your account can make highmountain tauren as new characters (starting at level 20) wherever you want just like you could make any other character.

The way he answered the question was weird, but it's 25 bucks for the race change so things aren't any different than what they were like before, except that you need to do a grind first to unlock the races that you change into.

A player who the requirements unlocked including the BfA preorder can always just use the free 110 boost on an allied character.

So all the people that buy them now with $25 of actual money just get fucked over when everyone gets them for free when the expansion actually releases? That sounds even worse.

Fuck the whole idea of buying races separately. That's not only greedy as fuck but it gives them an incentive to make their racials OP to encourage people to buy them.

Nah, they're free. It's just that you get one a day, and you have to spend 10-15~ minutes doing random stupid quests to get them. To get the paragon chests, you have to get 10,000 rep with that faction after becoming exalted. You don't pay for the chests; you pay for game time to keep trying to open chests so you can get a legendary that likely isn't what you wanted, like Cnideria or Prydaz. If you actually TRIED, you could get a paragon chest in a week of doing daily quests in that specific zone. Like, Human + Rep buffs (Darkmoon Faire, for example) + the World Quest weekly for 20% bonus rep AT MINIMUM. It's pretty damn stupid.

I'll do it you a solid and explain the implications.

The graph gives us about 55% win-rate on Horde, 45% on Alliance. This means Horde does win more on average, which does make a difference on a wide population but it's insignificant on the individual. When you break it down into whole numbers, it takes 20 games for Horde to get ahead of Alliance for the average player ramming their face into queue every day.

Granted, it's only 10 games for the BGs more skewered towards Horde rates, or if you're some kind of monkey that actually likes AV, Alliance, but basically if you're losing 5 games in a row as someone on either faction, the numbers imply that someone else in your faction is winning about as many on average to equalize it.

Anyhow, the tl;dr is that if you're about 50/50 then you're doing fine, but you're seriously losing the majority of your games no matter what you're playing then you're actually probably a shitter, maybe not worse than the average shitter on your team, but enough that your wins just mean you were carried by the few dudes that dominate every BG they're in.

It's really similar to how it used to work, with you paying for them by buying the expansion they're a part of. The only difference is that you have to unlock them through ingame content, which is something I'm completely okay with.

I'm really not sure why it had to be this complicated. It's a pretty simple concept.
