Pastel's one is consistent though. Even though she forgave him for his actions at Reset's insistence she never actually accepted him. So wanting to settle the score (only for it to backfire) and needing him to rescue her a third time makes sense. Especially with that scene in IX where she admits that she's reconciled with him "for now".

Originally they planned VIII to be about Helman, IX to be a Quest, a party type game where you meet as many old characters you can and solving the fate of the minor ones. Then X was supposed to be showdown, possible more focused on smaller cast. Maybe it would be better than what we got instead.
Also I wouldn't be surprised if X would override many of those Quest epilogues. I think that they didn't thought that X would be this huge when they made those.

I hope that Alicesoft didn't lock too much content behind purposefully fucking up in X. Saying that at most a single playthrough can only net you 50% of the possible content in the game sounds good but if the other 50% is stuff like "You only get to see this if you allow XYZ to get captured and raped or this country to collapse to this extent" then I'd be a bit disappointed
