Love is already artificial. Replace instinct and chemical reactions with predetermined ideals and programmed reactions, and there's virtually no difference. Assuming we're still talking about something with free will, if they love you they love you. The fact that they were programmed too wouldn't necessarily bother them any more than the way you're programmed to like whatever it is you're into.

But if you do want to look at it like it's brainwashing or something; is it really that terrible if it genuinely makes them the happiest they've ever been?
