I think it's important to keep in mind GO money is split with DW and Aniplex. No doubt TM make bank on it but i'd be surprised if they saw more than 40% of the profits.

Besides that they're still a company with shareholders and all their games and anime have to be outsourced so they're not seeing full returns on them either. At the end of the day pouring money into smaller spinoffs is a waste of it.

The real problem is that they're an auteur driven, franchise focused production where the auteur only works in fits and spurts. They could farm out endless spinoffs but mainline works being produced is contingent on Nasu's work ethic and it comes and goes irregularly, and now that they're well off they have no reason to really try to fix it or punish him because he's their golden goose and the other staff plus GO keep them profitable no matter how lazy he is.

TL;DR: TM aren't evil, they just have weird circumstances. Blame Nasu or blame no-one.
