VPN ban worked quite well. There were a couple Chinese guilds that were whitelisted. One of them was caught exploiting and they banned every single one of them. Unlike on Light's Hope where they get special privileges and make up 75% of the overall population.

reminder that K2 had as many chinese as Nostalrius and Light's Hope—there's literally no difference between playing on whitekidney's donor Warglaives server and on a twinstar server with humans on kodo mounts.

The Chinese were so pissed about the VPN ban, that actually worked, they DDoS'd K2 for months. The server had no where near as many Chinese players as Light's Hope. Certainly less than 10% of the overall population.

The server didn't go off for 2 months, K2 died before nost was even announced, people could only take so much shit. It got to like 2k population, then the nost announcement was the final nail in the coffin. Also loads of chinese were still active until the end, so much for vpn ban lmao.

i like the timeline but it would be nice if they did a 'blizzlike' pvp system release. on nighthaven they had no honor system or battlegrounds at release. eight weeks in they released the honor system and then twelve weeks in they released wsg/ab. the four weeks between the honor system and wsg/ab were some of the most enjoyable of my private server career.

Blizzlike pvp system is complete shit though.
I dunno if you experienced it but on Elysium finding casters for premades was complete hell, because very few casters wanted to go till r10, let alone beyond, cause caster rewards were complete fucking trash untill later patches, not to mention no viable r14 weapons.
I hope on K3 they release with upgraded pvp items so more people have an incentive to actively pvp. Atleast that's what I'm hoping for with the item/patch system they say they're gonna implement.

This has been fixed in the pet speed normalization patch wich was around BWL. If pet speeds are different on LH - all the more reasons to dump it.
