When you're playing with randoms, yea. Thankfully I mostly play with friends and they're all competent so being a helpful support is great. When G rank comes it'll thin the wheat from the chaff a bit more and then people will actually land hits consistently to justify attack up.

In world handicraft doesn't upgrade the color of your weapon? From my expirience it seems to only increase the current color, is that true?

Only certain weapons get white with Handicraft. And most of them suck balls even with white, so Handicraft is largely useless outside of a few specific weapons that both get white, and don't inherently suck fucking balls.
