>last thread dies
nice going guys

>they broke the chain

You have brought shame to all the nodevs who came before you. Do you know how much they sacrificed to ensure that the shitposting would continue unbroken for generations?

>I chastise others for not doing what I could have done just as easily
How does it feel being the worst kind of person?

>I chastise others for not doing what I could have done just as easily
isn't that what gets people into gamedev to begin with

where do you think we are?

Less bitching, more honor killings of those responsible for this fuckup

>tfw no gf

If the guy from last thread is still hanging around, I've got more trouble. I changed the code to pic related and now the player doesnt move at all aside from camera rotation. I tried changing the Update() to FixedUpdate() and that didn't work either. I also tried AddForce in place of setting velocity and still nothing.

>godot doesn't let you use tonemapping, color grading or bloom in 2D mode

No. It's the way of the nodev shitposter.

>do some work with the Sega Genesis
>straightforward embedded dev type stuff
>start looking at 32X development
>complexity goes up by an order of magnitude
>development requires proprietary Sega libraries meaning you could never "legally" release your games

I see why the 32X homebrew scene is essentially non-existent now.

I've barely started and I'm alright fighting against spaghetti code. I wish I knew how to make robust infrastructure to avoid these weird as shit hacky implementations.

email sega and ask if you can use their libraries?

...

Why the fuck would a console with 20 games have a homebrew scene?

because why the fuck not?

Okay what exactly is your problem?
Do you know about classes and abstraction?

How many levels should be in my demo before I post to Demo Day?

One really polished level is better than 3 unfinished ones.
A good demo only needs one really great level

All of them.

Is it bad (like bad bad) to eat only hot pockets for a week? Been eating a variety of flavors if that helps. Progress has been higher than usual, so its been worth it I think.

Someone in the previous thread said he was "on it". And yet the thread never materialized.

I blame him.

>Reached 792 posts
>"dies"

Everything just sort of seems clunky? So all my cards are ScriptableObjects and this is what the basic attack card looks like, including the targeting system over in another class.

If you're going to eat shit, get some ramen and learn how to spice it up.

does any equipment exist to block out all noise? I can't think clearly when there is any noise and it affects my ability to program and make art. even white noise is too disruptive

Well I figured both were high in sodium and the pockets at least had meat which is more protein. But maybe I could add egg, is that what you mean by spice it up? I need lazy devfuel to keep me going.

I actually sometimes wish I was part deaf so I could switch between silence and noisy with hearing aids

Hearing protection of some sort maybe?

air horn and a funnel

Some people with tinnitus apparently plug their ears and also listen to white noise from their headsets, I hear (no pun intented). I'd image that would be like a noise blocker of sorts.

I'm glad I don't find noise distractive. Almost the opposite, actually. I like working in a mildly noisy office or similar space. Feels less lonely that way.

Not him, but I've got pretty bad tinnitus. Usually keep music playing even softly, or else have a fan running in the room.

Thank anons, already works like a charm.

Already change it.

Sorry if the error was obvius, but it`s my first game and I`m learning to code along the way.

Ru-user, don't skip (few mor days to enter left) youtube.com/watch?v=xdBi3HzMAaU

Truthfully speaking, how many of us are gonna make it?

The ones who dev rather than worry about whether or not they're going to make it.

OK, this time someone figure out the next game jam please.

Go look at the recap images. Then go see how many of those are on Steam.

We're not going to make it.

I'm not gonna make it.

For every cute dog posted in the next 12 hours, I will add a level to my game before the next demo day.

I am the sole determiner of what is cute and what is not, but try your best. Reply here.

Thanks a ton mate, don't know why I couldn't find that before. Now I've actually got to do the programming oh god

real video games are written in C and assembly and run on MS-DOS

does it has Rigidbody attached?

It most certainly does.

just drink lots of water.

Real games are written in Brainfuck and run on Palm-PC

and controller script attached and enabled?

If you know ho to use SO you already miles ahead of any unity dev

You betcha

That's just not true at all. Any dev knows SO.

What's the best choice for dedicated server hosting?

its like noah's ark except you have sex with 2 of every animal

go on...

Nevermind, I fixed it. Apparently the camera had its own character controller that was overriding the Player himself. What an absolute blunder on my part.

this but the animals are just degenerates in fursuits trying to escape the flood that God create to eradicate them

Alright, I'm just going to set it to a button like a faggot

Digital Ocean

>furry christian games

Why do I get the feeling that this could be an extremely profitable genre?

If it was, El Arca would have made millions.

should I spend the next two weeks continuing to work on my own project, or practicing things relevant to my interview?

How do I into sprite/pixel art.

Go study classical painting first.

You can, just set WorldEnvironment to Canvas node.
I think you also need to set rendering mode to 3D in the options too, but you can still use the 2D nodes.

So where is free cd-keys m8

game where you punch donald trump

What's a recognizable hud icon to let the player know they're over encumbered? Would something like this be fine? Or maybe like a little weight icon? Or a better idea?

a kettlebell or 1ton weight is traditional.

a stick figure with a weight on his back and sweat drops coming off him

a game that doesn't have something retarded like over encumbered state

Oh I'm sorry, I should have mentioned my question wasn't intended to be answered by homosexuals

Thanks, I think I got an idea now

gimme a catchy name for a necromancy game

NecroMimi (requires cute girl protagonist)

NecroNancy
you're a cute witch necromancer

>he thinks he's straight because he hates fun and puts nofun mechanics in his games

ayy

Fallout 4, but as soon as you pick up a junk item it automatically breaks down into its components, which weigh nothing.

So picking up a plunger will have one(1) rubber inserted in your inventory, and since its a crafting resource it doesn't weigh you down. That way you still get to pick over any junk you want, without being punished. Thoughts?

gaylord

>Fallout

stopped reading there

corpsemaster2000

My little necromancer can't be this cute?!

I'm gonna be an uncle. I don't what to do.

Be a cool uncle that makes videogames.

its like fallout but in space

Necromoms

don't know if he mentioned exact sales figures at any point, but he talked about the experience here

Ok, I'll try.

Teach your nephew to play Cave Explorer

It's worth remembering that success like this is the exception these days. You're almost guaranteed to fail and be worse off than you started.

...

Did you base the name off of that one webcomic?

it's also worth noting that the guy who made that was previously a competent games journalist, so he spent his time writing about what makes good games good and what makes bad games bad.
